I personally have no issues saving gold throughout the leveling process or even at max level. I pretty much farm materials and other things so I don’t need to buy stuff on AH. I pretty much rely on RNG rather than fork out hundreds of gold to buy gear, get pets or mounts.
But the one thing I must do and always will blow gold on is transmogging my gear so it matches, I cannot go 1 second with out making sure those new boots or gloves are not matching my current outfit I am wearing it absolutely drives me bonkers…I mean I have either waited to be out of an instance or raid before even putting on an upgrade, or if I can will pop my mount and mog my gear.
What are some things you cannot control yourself from buying?
I guess flasks and potions usually, but I’ve lost a lot of gold since the expac started that I’ve decided to start work some herb farming into my routine.
Somewhat on mogs, but mainly on mounts. Most mogs I just farm/get myself. The main ones I spent money on were items like the plate highborne diadems, in yellow/blue/green, for mog outfits with my spectacular hair still showing.
After switching my two mains to just mining and herb(including this character), I made uber thousands of gold in Legion. That was the first time I’ve been able to do that in Wow, while it hasn’t worked as well for me in BFA.
So in Legion I bought every NPC mount, which was below a million. Then I bought every mount sold on the AH for less than 500 K. So now, when I pull up mounts on the AH and check “usable”, I only have 4 unpurchased mounts showing (because, like I said, gold isn’t as easy for me in BFA and that blood spider thing is always over 350 K or so.)
Since I skipped the WoD cash cow, unfortunately, Legion was the first time I bought the Yak. Then I bought the other repair mount(s?) since I never had, then I bought pretty much everything.
