Lock picking > Pick pocket > Distract.
They’re not useless but they aren’t always useful.

I used to think the grappling hook was useless, then I realized it gives me the ability to jump off any cliff with relative impunity.

Now I’d have to say Distract.

Up until 8.3 where they slightly buffed Drain Soul it was pretty much useless, the talent was so horrible that it was actually a dps loss over taking no talent point on that row at all, and it stayed that way from beta all the way to 8.3… quality work guys!

Least useful:

  • Teleport: Ancient Dalaran … why would I want to teleport myself over a giant crater in the ground???

It’s quite a contrast to the mage class’ MOST useful spell:

  • Portal: Ancient Dalaran … a must-cast at the end of every raid, dungeon, and battleground!

Won’t work on NPC’s beyond just stopping them in their tracks, which can be useful too. It’s players that will mindlessly auto run, so you can herd them off a cliff / bridge with a well timed distract.

Once I got 3 & a half players to fall off a bridge at once. The half is a player that didn’t completely fall off, but got stuck on the side of the bridge.

It’s as satisfying as using a knock-back or mind-control for the same effect imo.

Yup, as a holy priest, I tend to use all my spells. I don’t find a ton of occasion to use Leap of Faith though, unless I WANT to be trolly.

Polymorph. The CC must be nice… somewhere. But other players keep punching the sheep.
I sheep’d that healer for a reason, guy. Why would you pick now to suddenly focus them after a whole match of ignoring them?
