World of Warships ends up being a really expensive game.
Probably Mechwarrior Online. I most likely spent a couple thousand over the 12 years I played it. The combination of copious amounts of beer, a reasonably well paying job (at the time) and OCD tendencies lead to it. I guess having to take a job that payed less than half of what my job at the time paid, finally got me to realize what a huge money sink that game was and I quit for good.
M:TG from 1995-2001.
CCGs are a Ponzi scam, sucking in money only to have later editions leave you in the dust anyway.
I remember brave frontier. I played it a ton and then took a break for ~2 years. When I looked into it again, I saw a post that it had shut down 3 months prior. That was a bummer.
Whats the most you ever lost on a coin toss?
wdym? /ten
It’s a line from No Country for Old Men, and I posted it in response to the thread title.
Probably Elder Scrolls Online, because I’ve had a recurring subscription going on it for two or three years.
When I was playing Siege on a semi pro team I spent $350 on a headset lol
I spent about $300 on cosmetics in D4.
Stellaris and it’s MANY ( usually overpriced ) dlc’s lol
I’d reckon my answer would have to be Warframe.
And then I dropped it because too much focus on vehicle systems for new content.
I had fun while it lasted though.
I’ve probably spent about $4000 on Hearthstone and about $2.5k on Grand Fantasia.
The “deluxe” package of any game is just about as much as I’ll spend on a game. But WoW is the only game I really buy at full price. Most other games I don’t buy on release and wait til there’s a Steam sale. I haven’t bought a new game for my Switch in a couple of years.
After WoW… probably EVE. I started playing in 2010 and played on and off until finally quitting for good. 2 - 3 accounts, depending, although a chunk of it was paid for with in-game currency.
Next would probably be the original Mass Effect series, because I bought some merch as some point, and after that the Witcher games for the same reason. Something like $200 or $250 each with all games included.
By and large though, I tend to wait for Steam sales on whatever games I’m interested in. A little patience often gets me all of DLCs, too.
I bought the $30,000.00 Ship and Cosmetic Package for Star Citizen for my 4 accounts there.
Clash of Clans. 5k+ over 5 year span.
Probably FFXIV. Fantasia costs alone…
