The worst part is that our first “expansion” was basically a story patch (a seriously mediocre one) with very little added.
Runewords are incredibly simplified, the new class is all but forgotten already (didn’t even bother to make a Lunar New Year armor set for it or anything), and the new zone goes basically unused. Class balance is beyond a joke. There is NO endgame outside of “the pit”, most boring thing of all time. Nothing to collect or achieve outside of the “seasonal” content, and even that is only a week’s worth of gameplay that we have to pay 15 bucks for.
They’ve hinted at Paladin several times now, and I think they couldn’t omit having them be the ‘new’ class in the next expansion, but I wouldn’t expect anything extraordinary. It’ll be the exact same game, paste new class, maybe a new zone (that once again isn’t really used for anything outside helltides/whispers/whatever season gimmick) and call it a day after once again giving the most lackluster story you’ve ever seen.
They do have good cinematics still, though.
Diablo 4 is in maintenance mode. They are not even trying anymore.
Anyway, sigh.
I had such huge hopes for D4. Man, did they ever let me down.
