WoW’s meaning can be whatever it is you want it to be. As long as it is something you want its meaning to be.

Which means that pizza is an objectively correct answer. Play WoW and eat pizza.

For me, it is the art, worldbuilding, lore, and identity(faction, race, and class).

Originally I might’ve said it was a believable simulated world, but they’ve heavily moved away from that with the monetization.

I think now it’s just an average MMO with a lot of sunk cost fallacy keeping vets around and virtually no new players coming in because the new player experience is putrid.
