Is it a kind of physicial magic or something?
I mean I love the current the utility, I think it is really cool but I feel akward throwing random eagles to my enemies since hunter does not own any kind of magic
Is there a lore or reason why hunter has it? I would prefer to use a bow during the Aspect of eagle instead throwing eagles.
Infusion of that eagle spirit from order hall campaign? Idunno… Its stupid… Eagle aspect should allow to pull out a bow and use it to shoot arrows instead.
1hander weapon + bow combo at all times
melee range = all skills use melee animations (even ranged ones)
At range = shoot from bow.
I believe this would fix most of the thematic problems.

It was our major damage CD in legion and it got moved to a utility range increase in BFA.
Honestly, to this day Aspect of the eagle feels better visually to press than coordinated assault. The green aura and yes even shooting green eagles at someone feels very on brand for SV, to the point where I wish they would have taken it a step further with coordinated assault.

That was fury of the eagle. Artifact Weapon skill.
No aspect of the eagle in legion was our major offensive cd, its effect was;
Grants you and your pet 10% increased Critical Strike chance on all abilities, and increases your chance to gain charges of Mongoose Bite by 100%. Lasts 10 sec.
Plus more buffs from our azerite weapon. During the Cd we could ramp up a lot of mongoose bites and really get some great damage in .
I stand corrected, I now remember that. I also read your initial post wrong in just reading major damage and not taking “CD” into account.
Sorry!

Keep in mind guys that I was referring more about lore and fantasy rather than mechanics
From their study of animals, Hunters derived qualities of particular creatures for either their distinct defensive or offensive qualities. Hunters have had spells that make us appear to have an Avian creature with us from “Eagle Eye” to “Sentinel.” Aspect of the Eagle is either an offensive spell that takes quick strikes from eagles and since they have wings gives our melee damage the ability to go ranged with flight, or is that avian creature (being an eagle) that we consistently tell to attack our target. I haven’t really figured it out yet.
With the development of hunters being quite dull in the past couple of expansions now you can’t expect a lot of lore / fantasy behind many of spells / abilities. It’s more “oh this sounds like a good idea” kind of development from the many questionable changes that we’ve had. Why even “Fury of the Eagle” was a very fast strike in melee range (almost like fist of fury) last expansion to aspect of the eagles obvious curiosity now is a question i’m sure will never be answered.
