I’m not sure my statement about gender should be the takeaway here, the fact remains that it’s creepy. Yes, I’m sure you’re correct, most players regardless of gender wouldn’t appreciate it, however, I am female and I do dislike it.
Agreed on the major boredom part, I figure it was that the first time, but since it has come from multiple people?? The exact same statement? I can’t imagine that I’m that important to someone to use multiple accounts to mess with me.
I think it’s a holdover from an earlier generation when women in gaming were much rarer. These days it’s not exactly uncommon. Probably about half the players in my guild are women and I see plenty of female characters out and about. Impossible to say how many of them are women or men behind the screens. Half of my alts are female after all.
Wow… I was expressing my own feelings, not sure why my statement that I am female caused such a reaction. The question was, does the phrase mean anything other than to annoy?
Pretty sure it’s just random bored people, I used to get random “Ask not what your country can do for you. Ask what you can do for your country.” sometimes when I was walking in boralas in bfa. Always a different name but always the same message.
