Im of course talking about Loque. THE hunter pet since Wrath. Still eye catching to date and popular. Some may say “But Hati?” to which I say, but I never see a hunter using him.
But since we are 8 expansions removed from Loque, we need something as iconic. That every hunter would want (but not locked behind such a wall). And it should be non-exotic.
Curious if we will ever get such a pet.
That is what made the wrath era spirit beasts so iconic though. They were hard as hell to get. I will literally never forget the night I tamed Loque. If blizzard is just handing the pet out to every hunter every 2 min it is just another pet. Now sticking it behind a mythic raid kill of the last boss is pure trash. Maybe that is what you meant.

Than not as crazy to where youre not going to get it for an expansion or 3 before you get it. There was no prestige or skill involved, it was being lucky. Hunters camped at all spots, others flying around and even more flying around to kill it for an achievement. Plus the time for spawn and a chance it’s another altogether.
The mythic way is just dumb. Especially considering how there are less and less mythic raiding guilds so the cost was millions of gold for the mount…
Heck, id take Pandaria’s tracking to get the pet.
Honestly I like the way they did Sul’Raka. Actually had to track that one. Taming my second Sul’Raka I ended up killing another hunter who was trying to tame her and taking up the tracking from there. That was way more fun than random looking for Loq.
Ive actually never seen this one brought up before. Checked wowhead and theyre a tiger with a mohawk.
Im hoping there is a rare lynx. Saw a vid yesterday and it showed the brown and gray ones. The models just look life like. A cool version of that would be nice.
I have a feeling with the changes they have implemented, that even as MM we will be using our pets more for solo play. I wish the Exotic tag was done away with so I could use Loque. And as a cat, he was ferocity.
Well with Sul’Raka you actually have to follow her tracks and flare her out while she’s prowling. Dunno of any pet tame out there that feels more huntery. (Yes I know that’s not a real word)
I missed that. So it was like Pandaria hunter rares. Tracking, flairing and taming. Nice!

I don’t think we need “another Loque”. There are so many cool pets in the game to choose from and they add more variety every expansion.
If you mean they need to add more challenging pets to tame like the fire spiders from Cata, then sure. Those were super fun times taming those spiders and also the spirit owl.
But to be honest these days, I just like using random pets that fit my characters, not some legendary wolf or cat with lots of flash.
All hunter pets need an update.
Or rather, a reversion to the Legion pet role system.
Does it? I’d like for all hunters to have a chance at it. But if you read the rest of my post…you know what, never mind.
Probably because the cat spawns every like 15 min. Every hunter I play with had one day one of that zone opening.
I liked how you needed to solo halls of valor wolf boss on mythic 0 to be able to take it.
I never saw any mention of it by anyone. At least its relatively easy to get. Pick a spot near the spawn and wait for the tracks
They will when it’s farmable solo content but until then it’s nice to have cosmetic rewards for hard content and I hope they do it for more hunter pets in the future
Not surprised a CE raider doesn’t mind it. Why would you? lol
I have to go back to vanilla when pet attack speeds could be different for certain spawns and everyone was camping the same cat to tame. That cat was annoying as hell in pvp as it just constantly interrupted casters.
i use 2 pigs and they are way better than any spirit beast! i need more cute low fantasy pets. i cant believe there still isnt a tameable cow in the game! or a (non mechanical) sheep or chicken!
Being a CE raider is as easy as just getting hooked up in a CE guild. If I knew the right people, I would be that too, like Liv Tyler getting to be Arwen because of her daddy.
I don’t believe such barriers should exist for any and all Hunters to get that owl. Imagine you not being able to get the owl because you were not socially privileged.
