Difficulty-wise?
Assuming that you are level 70 and moderately geared?
Which expansion’s Dungeons are the upper limit of soloability, and at which difficulty level?

Depends on class and personal skill level.
BFA is numbers-wise pretty much all soloable, but several mechanics make some of the raids impossible to progress in alone until Blizzard fixes them (which they said a while ago that they would do, but seem to have forgotten about).
All SL and BFA dungeons should be soloable. Some SL raids might be doable but you’ll probably start running into scaling checks and more mechanic issues quickly there.
As a general rule for scrubs like me, two expansions back is the best you can hope to do without a ton of effort, so as Brislebody said, probably BfA
when it comes to the OLD old expansions(pre-BFA) is there a specific difficulty level where things actually stop dying in one hit?
Or should you be able to just bumrush every difficulty?
You can easily do shadowlands dungeons now.
For raids, youre stuck at legion due to group mechanics not being removed from bfa onwards.
I was able to do most BFA content solo last week. There were a couple iffy mechanics that made it impossible depending on what class I was, but yea.
Legion make take more than a single hit but not much more.
Anything earlier than that will fall over.
I did all of mythic azshara palace last week
So that’s at least doable, some tight checks though and smart CD usage on some bosses, others just DPS machine
I see. I’m planning a trip through all the expansion stories in order once I finish DF with this Paladin.
So, for any first-time runs through a dungeon, I should definitely do them on the highest difficulty then? for the achievements
Probably, especially anything pre-BFA.
You can do SL heroics pretty easy last time i tried
Mythic imonar is always a fun one, hit him just hard enough and watch him fly to the other end of the bridge, and then fly back to the start and knock you off.
