I’ve gone to where it is and I’ve looked up guides and I literally have no idea where I’m supposed to be going or what I’m supposed to be doing to increase my rep so I can buy recipes.
Does anyone know?

There ya go!
“Farming Cobalt Assembly reputation is simple: Just kill Sundered Flame enemies in the area”
Doesn’t get much easier…
Yeah I looked at that guide and I still have no idea.
I’m clicking on the orbs and selecting abilities and all that but my rep isn’t going up. What else do I need to be doing?
Something to know before you delve into it - the rep gain has been nerfed.
Now, Cobalt is an area where you just kill mobs over and over. Said mobs will occasionally drop a certain item of alternate sizes, and depending on the size you’ll get a fixed amount of rep.
People run it in groups because it allegedly makes it go quicker. Also, some of the mobs hit hard and have lots of HP.
Mass murder Sundered Flame enemies.
The orbs don’t provide rep, random drops from stuff you kill there does.
It’ll show up as loot like “minor arcana” or “moderate arcana” but it’ll go directly into your reputation bar.
Go there. Talk to dragon at the quest hub.
Go in.
Kill things.
Much better if you tag along one of the many groups there.
Kill more things.
Get powers. (Orbs mobs leave behind)
Kill things even easier.
Get rep.
Unlock extra 30% rep at rank 1.
Get the easiest high quality 389 ring for minimal effort.
Profit.
Thats how it works.
You get rep from the items you loot.
I figured it out, for some reason the rep goes up in bursts so it didn’t look like I was getting any rep and I was confused. Thanks for all your help guys
I find it hilarious how everyone in here gave accurate and fair desctiptions of yet this is yet absolutely no one can actually tell you what this thing is.
It’s a place where you kill mobs for a while with buffs that blizzard wasted time coding. Maybe in the future we will see something be done but I had that place turned into an irrelevant spot within hours.
I’m very disappointed in whatever this thing was.
Seems like it was explained also
No, you’re missing my point if you even read the entire comment. We get that it is a place where you kill mobs for rep but what IS the cobalt assembly?
You get thrown there in the quest line with a single sentence explanation. Once you get your ring you leave and don’t look back without any resolution. I know what I did there. I don’t know what the point of me doing that was.
Kill mobs they drop either blue or green rep things thats about it
It’s a scuffed version of torghast meant to make us all reflect on how good Jailer’s Gauntlet actually was and how we were too harsh
The Cobalt Assembly are mindless drones of the Aspects conmiting genocide on any dragonkin that doesnt bend the knee to their tyranncial dictatorship.
The Sundered Flame is only looking to establish a fair democratically elected collective of previously enslaved dragonkin in the pursuit of freedom.
Killing them is a war crime on behalf of the cruel tyrant Aspects.
A lil dragon genocide for some tailoring recipes is fine by me
Cobalt Assembly is an 8 hour long repetitive motion wrist killer that has rewards on parity with some heroic dungeons and raids but with 32 times the effort; which makes you wonder why you’re paying blizzard to kill your wrist. Drop rate is terribly imbalanced even with a global sign perk and with local drop perks and if you aren’t with a tank you will be miserable to the point tanks are literally blackmailing people with 20k gold fees per reputation level to run the zone for them. Don’t get me wrong, it’s fun for the first couple hours, especially if you get the enchanmtents going and you’re walking tall without being slowed to a crawl and have formed up a team, but having do to this on every character is its own little nightmare, this one zone should not constitute bulk play time requirements for the isles expansion.
If your group is too small or undergeared, it gets slaughtered if it’s too large, things die so fast not everyone gets all the drops, so you’re in conflict with each other for rep.
Whoever said this was easy, was a tank. Tanks survive relatively easy and can up their dps with the enhancements so tank classes get an easy pass in here. Add to that that the enhancement “Cobalt Catchup” can be so unreliable during zone/world lag that you can select it several times from the enhancements menu and it will not be applied meaning you are constantly having to monitor your buffs hoping that the catch up will properly apply and you won’t lose all the enchants.
What Blizzard should do if they want to improve things is make the gains account wide or increase the drop rate by about double or triple its current rate and create other reasons to return to the area over time because once your toon is maxed out there’s no future reasons to return, which, over time, will kill this areas activity on some servers.
Also Cobalt assembly cosmetics appear made for Dracthyr, but don’t appear to actually apply to Dracthyr except the belt, shoulders, and weapons or at least, that’s what my Dressing room is telling me.
Add on top of all this, frequent server drops even on under 100 ms latency and on a 1 gig fiber line and you wonder what torture master designed this zone.
