Where the black blood flows or pools it spreads a curse of flesh upon the earth. Where it lingers and pools in large quanities we see blood abominations arise. They share similarities with elementals but I believe are typed as Abberations.
When we arrive at the congealing pools (2nd boss area of Nerubar) the nerubians say that we are disrupting their operations which will cause the blood to become unstable. This gives form to the bloodbound abomination.
The bloodbound abomination summons forth faceless ones to aid it in battle. It reads that it materializes them from the unseeming, so out of nothingness or another realm.
Noggenfoggers notes in undermine reveal that for unknown reasons Kajimite stabilizes the black blood which not only makes it easier/safer to transport but makes it into dangerous munition for the weapons that would emerge from the Darkfuse Cartel.
And when we go to Horrific Visions in TWW S2, we are told that “the last time nzoth used the black blood was in his attempts to merge nyalotha with our reality.” (Paraphrasing.)
And in nyalotha the world is covered in his body and his blood flows.
From the bodies (and we can now assume blood) the canon lore says the Aqir and Faceless ones emerged or originated. Which we see examples of when the bloodbound abomination of the congealing pools summons or creates them from the unseeming.
Finally, we learn recently through (I think) lorewalking that nzoth was “building something under nyalotha,” that was so reprehensible that xalatath played her hand and attacked the old gods.
Another instance of Old God corruption analogous to the dream is the emerald nightmare where Ilgynoth, a tumorous growth of nzoth, was attempting to take over the dreams version of Elunahir to use its roots to burrow down to the core of the world.
Sooooooooooo, what is the black blood congealing into? What do these abominations become once they’ve hardened and emerged from the muck? Are they just blood infused elementals? Are they the fetus of the C’thraxi and Aqir waiting to emerge?
But more importantly, is the unseeming what Nzoth was building beneath nyalotha? Another layer closer to the dream of the world soul? Nyalotha is itself N’zoths dream of the world, his empire in past present future, so what could be deeper and even more damming than that? We know so little about the unseeming and yet I crave to know more.
