What is the appropriate level of gear to beat Khonsu?

I imagine this can vary a great deal by skill and class, but I’d just be curious base on everyone’s experiences, what level of gear you should be aiming for before even really attempting to beat Khonsu?

It’s obviously more mechanic-based, but also I don’t think anyone is prepared to sit in a fight for like 30 min per successful attempt.

Any tips per class would also be handy!

warriors had sunglasses in p4 with mc gear or less

Every 45 seconds he gains a stack of this debuff: https://www.wowhead.com/classic/spell=457851/overconfidence

which means by 2;15 or so he’s taking +825% damage and an additional +45% from Arcane, Frost, Nature, Physical, Shadow, which is multiplicative with the +825%
It is possible to do it with very little to no gear but there is a 7 minute max fight length as you can see by the aura https://www.wowhead.com/classic/spell=458872/infinite-midnight

he was also buffed. you should be able to Khonsu with.a set of tier and a decent weap if melee

you might be able to do it in greens if youre a chad

My paladin is in Mc gear with a Dfc blue sword and it was a breeze. Easier than my warrior because human female hit box is tiny.

He takes more and more damage. You could definitely do in greens as long as you can reliably kill adds. I can dance for hours, adds are the only stresser

paladins have a pretty easy time with it, especially if you have the holy wrath tier.

the mix of melee attacks which you can do on the move and instant cast ranged attacks with no dead zone make it a breeze

its doable on any class though. our guild has both casters and melee with the fiery eyes

My ZG/BWL geared frost mage was killing him in about 2 mins per attempt (plus or minus 30 seconds depending on fingers of frost procs from cone of cold), and with frozen orb bugging out I had to do like zero dps until starfall phase. With less gear, it just takes more dodging to stack up the buff.

What I would like to see is an accurate animation of his frontal swipe. Multiple times I’ve been past the red and still get smacked. I can’t understand why they can’t fix that. They seem to fix anything that we discover to help us survive a bad RNG. So I know they’re watching.

You need to do “the wiggle”. Basically once you’re out of the AE you need to wiggle left and right. Otherwise, if you’re running in a straight line out of it, the game saves calculation effort by making a lazy judgment about where you “actually are” since most of the time your position doesn’t need to be calculated that precisely. The dev who created this encounter has talked about it on the secrets discord. They’ve already added 100 extra MS of delay on the attacks to help players with worse connections but ultimately you’re going to struggle if you don’t know the wiggle.

i was not aware of that. thank you. i’ll try that next time
