I made multiple characters last week to try out different high pop servers and it looks like the only advantage is mythic raiding.
Am I missing something?

think better to see what servers are linked together over one particular server now days
More people for casual content (while you can queue or use group finder for dungeons and mythic+ etc, many people don’t enjoy doing so, and would rather do this with guildies).
More on the AH/to buy from you on the AH (only stackables, crafting materials are cross-server in the AH iirc).
More people to pull into a guild n build new relationships and your own guild’s raid team as well.
more people willing to comfort you when you cry about your woes in trade at 1 am.
There’s more crafters to get what you want crafted at reasonable prices.
Depends on how you like to play. If you plan to just solo queue for stuff, there isn’t a huge advantage.
But if you care about the status of the actual server (such as what’s available on the AH, or having the world feel populated) then high pop servers will have better markets and feel more alive.
But if you want to do a lot of stuff solo, and don’t want to have to compete for quest mobs or rare hunting or that sort of thing, low pop might be better for you.
Strange things happen on high pop servers… like suddenly getting healed out of nowhere or finding you’ve been buffed.
Also the world feels more alive and if you need something unusual crafted, it helps if the population is healthy.
I play on a “New” server and holy hell it’ll be the day I ever make it to one of the Tanaan Jungle rares before they die in 5 seconds. If I’m flying through on a Wednesday morning at 11am I’m like surely I’ll make it. Never. Lol
This is the only “real” answer if you don’t mythic raid tbh. A52 can get you anything you wanted crafted at pretty much any given time and allows you to easily get the lowest bid (which can very well be 0g on non-447 pieces).
