All three of those call outs are the same icon.
Versus someone having 1/2/3 and raid lead types/calls orange condom circle.
I think too if we had the old ones AND numbers, we could do a thing of “move from circle to 1” or “move from triangle to 2” or something like that.

Me? Sure. I’ve seen two of three not be understood in pugs, multiple times.
If there were some documented guide to using the icons it would be nice as they are pretty vague unless you have been indoctrinated into the “common” usage of these symbols.

But if we had access to both we could then go “go circle to 1” or w/e. We can mix match em.
Some pugs amaze and frighten me at the same time when it comes to going to certain symbols.
Gosh, you remind me of the troll Ralph, who kept telling us in the leadup to Shadowlands that he created his own builds and thus was a better player than the “metaslaves” who looked up builds online and used the ones that were tested by professionals. Of course Ralph couldn’t get accepted into groups because his quirky builds were holding him back, and he ended up buying carries.

It’s easy to think they’re just dumb, but I think it’s more about feeling overwhelmed, and shape recognition being pretty weird.
We do better with empty space or familiar things, like with the Moon or numbers, respectively, than we do with shapes like circles or diamonds. When someone’s overstimulated, stressed, etc. that can matter.
No I was actually scarred for life and I’ve been through some stuff two tours Afghanistan and two in Iraq didn’t prepare me… For his profile
