What is the actual level when you get your Heart of Azeroth?

I am very confused.

I’m leveling a Zandalari Troll Death Knight and had assumed I’d get my heart at level 40.

Nope.

Looked into and found some solid claims for level 50. Thought to myself that was an odd choice, but whatever…I’m sure Blizz has their reasons. So I moved on and kept leveling, checking back for Magni at every level. (logging out and back in to be sure)

I stopped at 44 last week and haven’t been on that toon since, until today. Logged in and…Magni gave me the quest.

I’m not upset, mind you. Just very confused.

Can anyone confirm what the conditions are for actually getting your Heart of Azeroth with the pre-patch for shadowlands? Because if it’s level, then it’s incredibly inconsistent.

If you do the Nazjatar intro quest line and then the Highmountain quest, your neck is boosted to 50.

It is odd that its not given at 40. You can get by without it, but it was the main item in BFA, so 40 makes sense. Perhaps they thought it was over powered at low 40s and didn’t want to make those leveling in BFA more powerful than leveling elsewhere.

Not sure. I have a level 48 that has been leveling through BFA zones and I have still not gotten the quest to get it.

I always get the magni quest at level 50.

4 characters so far.

You have to be level 50 now to start it. I ran into this with my first alt I leveled after the prepatch went live. It’s a bummer.

I have had mine for a long time. Still 48, was 118?
They might have changed it.
Says requires level 40.

See, lots of people are saying 50.

But I literally just got it on my DK at 44.

So…a glitch perhaps?

Not sure, because 44 is below the equivalent of original levels where you could start it.

Yeah, the logic of that choice is a bit odd. Given that the heart was a core feature of BFA, it’s like going to Legion and not getting your artifact weapon. But I can see how going from level ten into BFA would be needlessly complicated with access to azerite essences.

The key difference is that the artifact is dead and the heart is not. Also almost all content needed to get essences is locked behind level 50 (unless you wanna do bgs until cap).
