What is starting MMR supposed to be in Solo Shuffle?

In week one of a new season, if you never played the spec before in any form of arena or solo shuffle ever?

I have always been told it was 1500. Is it still supposed to be 1500?

I started at about 1200 on one char at the begining of the season and then 1612 on a different character yesterday.

Does anyone know for sure? Can they link the Blizzard post or article where it tells you?

It’s 1500 + inflation.

Ok thanks. I guess it’s been inflated 112 so far and it was bugged earlier on in the season.

I had started at 1228 several weeks into the season. It must have been bugged for me and started me out at 1200 + 28 inflation. But has been fixed because another character yesterday started at 1612 so 1500 + 112 inflation.

I thought it was weird it started at 1228 earlier. Just a bug that has been fixed I guess.

I would have figured it had gone up more than 112, but I have no idea how much they add and when. I just thought it was more and you end up at like 1800 at the end of the season after inflation. Must not be at a flat rate every week.

It would be nice if they would have a flat rate for every week. I guess with rewards tied to rating, they just move it up however much they want when they feel like they should.

They should just have participation rewards for every 1000 games played for the people that care. That would make them keep playing a lot of games all season. And then R1 at the end of the season for people wanting an exclusive reward.

I don’t think they should have any rewards from pvp. You should only get something from winning a tourneyment. Pvp should be about fun, not getting loot.

Remove mmr and everyone starts at 0 cr. Go by the ranking on the ladder. No rewards. People would flip out lol.

I haven’t played Solo since S1 of SL.

I gave it a go last night. First game, my MMR was at 1776 and I only have my Tier set from doing M+ and a bunch of greens from the honor vendor.
Played another match tonight - 1 person quit and my rating didn’t change but my MMR must have went down because the next match I went 1-5. I think my rating increased by 96 points, but my MMR dropped down to into the 1600s after the third lobby.

It’s definitely rough starting out against players with their correct MMR and all the conquest PvP gear.

I always thought this system was weird but I think I picked the wrong time to start playing solo again.

Anyway that’s all off topic. My starting rating the other night (last night) was 1766. So that must be 1500 plus inflation, correct?

If you played solo shuffle in s1 of DF then it might not have fully reset so your mmr may partially be due to S1 and partially due to inflation.

the hidden value (MMR) always starts at 1500 for every fresh character (fresh means never played a rated game in X playlist). I’m pretty sure hidden values only fully reset on complete version changes (expansion launches) so your total hidden value maximum rating hit will always carry over from season to season.

the visible value (CR or current rating) resets with everyone else every season. I have no official documentation as it’s proprietary information but a key indicator would be simply looking at the MMR value of the RSS lobby when you load in.

this could be completely wrong or even vary by playlist but if I were a betting man…
