What Is Server Specific? - Playing with friends

Hi everyone! My friends convinced me to play WoW again! They’re all new to the game, but I used to play a lot from Classic until about 6-7 years ago.

They started on a different server for new players, but I’m on Bleeding Hollow with my other characters. Do they need to create new characters on my server? What are the benefits? What will we miss out on if we’re not on the same server?

I noticed that a lot has changed with servers, and we can team up now. But can we form a guild together? What about doing dungeons, raiding, PvP, exploring, and leveling up as a group?

I’d love your thoughts. Thanks!

At this point nearly everything can be done cross server. You can even join guilds cross server and cross faction. The only exception may be Mythic raiding early in the season(though I’m not actually sure this is the case anymore I haven’t bothered with raiding in years)

I’m pretty sure that was lifted with 11.0 as well.

There’s really nothing stopping people from playing cross server with friends. You can do everything cross server now with the exception of mailing items.
