What is this “max crests?” I just realized I’m not earing crests for WQs anymore and it says 900/900. I have 57 and need 90 to trade in. Will this go up over the season? I never noticed it before.
The crest cap goes up every week.

Every week the crest cap for each thing goes up by 90 so people can catch up if they didn’t earn the maximum amount the weeks prior. Quests awarded from things like the campaign don’t count towards the cap so you end up with a few more whelp / drake crests than the maximum.

Goes up 90 every week. If you’re at 900/900 and you have 57 left this week, you’ve spent 843 over the season. Might be time to move up a level in gear so you can start getting the next tier of crests.
P.S. My S3 cap is 810, how are you at 900?
Nevermind, the wyrm/aspect cap is lower than whelpling/drake.

57 is the number you get from the one time quests and campaign chapters at the start of the patch. So you can be at 957 900/900 if you hadn’t spent any.
I think there were some free drakes too from campaign chapters but I don’t recall how many. So the maximum number of those is also greater than the cap.
Wyrms and aspects the maximum is what’s listed as the cap.

Is 57 actually the total amount that ignores the cap? I mean, I see 12, 27, and 42 as valid one-time totals as well since crests can only be used 15 at a time at minimum and those’re each of the remainders.
Okay, thanks, everyone - that answered my question. I go play another toon or game or work on old content until next week or until my instance groups meet again and I might get higher gear. I’ve pulled coins out of the vault last couple of weeks, so stuck in champion.
Makes sense. Keeps most of the players within a particular i-level range to maximize parity. Thanks.
57 is the total number that ignores cap you can have, you can obviously find ways to spend them and have less in the multiples you wrote down though.
If you never spend whelp crests outside of in blocks of 90 to upgrade them into drakes, you’d have that many. Most people though used some whelplings before the season started to upgrade dreamsurge / time rift tier pieces to 450.

I just call him Max but you can call him Mr. Crests.
If you’re pulling coins from the vault you should use them to purchase wyrm crests and make crafted 476s if that’s the ilvl band you’re working towards.
