Is it for raiding? M+? I never see it talked about, and I rarely see Hpals to ask.
It’s kind of an alternative raiding option that’s less effective than the meta builds but it does simplify AoE healing a little bit. It just has such a short range, and the talent that increases its range is very far down the spec tree so there are often better ways to spend your points. Would love a little bit of a base range increase on it.
It’s been nerfed into the ground. 10k heal on 1mil health pools is a joke. You have to take all the things that buff it into account and it’s still pretty garbage. 2 points to get 40 yd range is laughable. Whoever redesigned holy clearly had a severe hate for LoD.
Light of Dawn is more or less only used in raiding, yes. It’s one of our many low-level AOE healing tools, meant to work with all our other low-level maintenance healing to do a semi-passive job keeping people topped up during minor rot damage.
Like everyone else has said, LoD is more of a raid thing but even in raid it’s not really needed. At some point they buffed WoG by like 10% and that tipped it over to be the better spell to use in basically all situations.
Use WoG in raid if it won’t overheal and only use LoD if WoG would overheal and you can hit 5 injured allies.
