What is Lich kings role in shadowlands?

Does it affect or change the lick king lore greatly?

or is it business like usual

Lich king is not natural thing. It was forcefully created.

but im saying does the lore get changed at al?

Not really, we never had any specifics on how Nathrezim made him.

If you are talking about Arthas - I am going to smack him around so much it’s not funny since his um… version of himself in ICC still won’t give me that stupid pony.

He’s there to bring me coffee and it better be hot.

He’s the king…

…and he’s a lich.

What specific lore are you referring to?

They made him so weak in the cinematic I’d bet he has some sort of major role. Maybe a new helm made and weapon or something.

Hopefully getting Sylvanas to powerslide onto another weapon of course.

When you want a banshee queen killed right you get an expert to do it.

The Lich King is gone.

The Helm of Domination was broken in the cinematic.

Bolvar serves as the Khadgar or Magni of this expansion and helps introduce us into the Shadowlands.

That being said, a very important area of Shadowlands is Torghast, Tower of the Damned, and more importantly the people within it. Inside Torghast there are two extremely important people:

  1. The Runecarver - Creator of Frostmourne and the Helm of Domination
  2. The Jailer - Primary Antagonist of Shadowlands

It has been stated we will learn more about the Helm of Domination and Frostmourne’s origins as the expansion goes on. But one curious thing of note is that the Jailer has tattoos of the various runes that were on Frostmourne.

Do understand this:

  • Bolvar is not undead, and being alive he has stamina. Unlike Sylvanas or Arthas
  • Bolvar does not have Frostmourne. Remember Arthas? The way we beat him? It was just by breaking Frostmourne. He was pretty weak, but that blade carried him hard
  • Bolvar was never really defeated. Sylvanas couldn’t beat him. Only restrain him.

who cares?

obviously the position doesn’t mean anything if you get wrecked this hard in your own damn house over and over again

Oh myyyyyy…

In the interview yesterday Ion basically said we learn more about the helm and the power of the lich king. As for bolvar, he’s set to be our new Khadgar

You really count Lich King Bolvar as part of the Lich King lore.

Lich King Lore would be Ner’zhul and Arthas. Bolvar was just a baby sitter.

As for Shadowlands he will be that expansions Khadgar/Magni.

Well, based on speculation that has the Jailer with very interesting ties to both Frostmourne and the Helm of Domination, it seems like the true “Lich King” has yet to be introduced.

Nah arthas was a chad before frostmourne, he was a skilled fighter

Yeah he was a Paladin who trained under Uther. Bolvar was strong too.

But again, Frostmourne was extremely powerful, and was the root of Arthas as the Lich King’s immense power.

all hail the lick king
