What is it going to take to address Oondasta?

15 minute timers have turned into hours of battling just to try to get a drop. I’ve had 12 hunters (none from my server) just chain-taming with absolutely no regard for anyone else.

I want hunters to get their pet, but I also want to try to get my kill for the week for the already ridiculous drop chance. Why can this be fixed? Why do I need to battle dozens of server-hoping players on outdated content?

It isn’t fun or challenging or exciting for ANY side. Why can’t hunters get a separate NPC “Spawn of Oondasta” or whatever to tame outside of this new shared thing.

Blizzard you can do better.

They should make it unable to be tamed while he can’t be damaged.
That would solve the problem and make sense.

I am confused… Can’t you kill Oondasta before taming finishes? Also, I am pretty sure taming is interrupted if the Hunter loses threat. How is this an issue? Someone explain to me what I am missing.

Oondasta, like a lot of the old world bosses, has a brief period after it spawns where it can be attacked but not damaged. From what I’ve heard, hunters can tame it during that invulnerability period so you literally can’t kill it before they finish.

Just for giggles, I went to the spawn point and watched. I killed Oondasta 4 times without seeing a single other player. Shrug…

No, which is the issue (in all of these many threads.)

The suggested fix is that the Hunter should not be able to start taming while it is invulnerable either; For one thing, by now any Hunter should have tamed it (they had a REALLY long chance to do so.)

So it should work like with regular mobs, where the hunter tame attempt would not work with everyone else there trying to kill it.

Have you tried turning on WM?
When I go to do my weekly kills, I -always- find him when I have WM on.
No one else is ever there.

Is that why it sometimes disappears out of no where immediately after spawning, and doesn’t return? I thought that was a bug.

Hey so this is still an issue. Add a separate NPC please, Blizzard, so we can stop having our time wasted attempting to get this weekly super-low drop chance mount kill.

people would still tame him to troll you know this right.

The implication is that if they added a separate mob, they’d make the boss untameable.
