Not a QQ post about wow dying or numbers suck but seriously…
Played wow for past 14yrs, and the current state is beyond belief.
I no longer raid/PvE in a hardcore 6/7 night a week going for worlds firsts, etc cause I got burnt out, I find fun just casually playing past few expansions and actually still completing the game. However…
On horde side NA servers, people asking for server mergers it doesn’t matter cause most content is cross server. That’s what I am using here today to speak about current state of wow.
Trade chat, general chat, etc are dead on multiple HIGH POP servers I play on. You see a message every 5min.
LFD tool where it’s cross server I saw 4 groups LFM at various boss stages ONLY FOUR in the latest raid and ONLY 1 GUILD ON MY HIGH POP SERVER RAIDING AT A PEAK TIME ONE!!! I remember we would have 30+ GUILDS raiding at one time and pugs spamming chat LFM…
This is pathetic, can’t play this game cause we now sit LFG in a town for 2 hrs just to get grouped with retards who can’t follow mechanics and wipe all day… lol
How is Blizzard now making money off of WoW??? the actual sub count is around 1mil or below for sure, this is getting ridiculous.

The sub count is way north of probably 2million. Between raiders, pvpers who have no intrest in pve content and rpers/ collectors people in EU and asia market The game is not what it used to be that is 100% sure but nothing will change it in the end i believe. It will just slowly fade till its death

At this point I’m not sure if developers and high-ups are wearing a blindfold or if they know how things are and don’t care. I really struggle to understand how they seem to be okay with the game as it is, continuing in the same direction and maintaining an air of arrogance that the fall of WoW is the fault of the players.
The game has changed so much in so little time, and it reminds me of the saying; “no matter how far you have gone down the wrong path, turn around.”
There’s this ardent dedication to the changes made that I just don’t understand.

Maybe they simply don’t care this game is like what 14+ years now?
I mean - every villain that this point is just gonna be a raid - we already stopped the legion, we’re gonna stop the void.
Where else can this go?

I believe they are aware they just lost touch with the game and how to fix it. Ion was once a guild master posting useful vids on YT to help players, he raided at high end level but that was in BC i believe. I think he has became too invested in corporate life and forgot how it was and he felt as a player.

I really believe he wanted to create his own game, but didn’t have any of the resources. So instead he’s changed this one enough that it is “Ion’s World of Warcraft”.

Boooooooooooooooooooooooring and unoriginal.

Unoriginal is fine, Last of Us story was very unoriginal…just have to find a compelling and immersive way to tell it meanwhile not making gameplay just unenjoyable
I mean don’t get me wrong, I find plenty of fun things to do in WoW, Pet Battles, leveling, achievement grinding, etc. But seriously we can’t even play this game as an mmo or group related game anymore, there is seriously not even close to enough people online at one time to consider this an actual mmo anymore…
JUST GIVE US WOW 2 lol

Your high pop servers aren’t as high pop as you think. Troll Chat is always buzzing on Proudmoore.

As soon as LFD and LFR existed the mmo was out of WoW because your reputation on your server mattered very little now honestly being in a guild matters very little with cross realm raids where people can do them. Blizzard took the community aspect of the game out of the players hands long ago. Honestly i would love the return of elite zones where it forced us to find groups in the area to finish the quest chain for it

No but it was certainly an pretty original take on the zombie story, for the most part.
WoW is just straight generic gray fantasy story telling. There is nothing nuanced or attempt at original thought.
Standard out of touch king with a corrupt council with a son - sorry daughter to save the day from her father.
Nothing is attempt at making an original train of thought.
Personal opinion.
Activision is sinking its decision making for more money into the company. Anyone actually paying attention can easily piece this together. Record breaking profits and they decide to fire 800 employees and cancel hots e-sports, pushing more mounts & and now toys as well into the cash shop, core employees that literally MADE Blizzard quitting / being let go, things like tier sets being taken out to “save time and money” yet not getting ANYthing in return, bad expansion with bad new content and they’re not even trying to improve it in anyway at all or listen to the community it seems.
I’m hoping that next expansion things get straightened out, but at the rate things are going now I’m afraid I may not even want to support them enough to play classic, sadly.

WoWs time is ending, just like 99% of games you played in the past. They have a certain life cycle then thats it. Its a 15 year old game thats not bringing in new players and why would it, its not very good.

Game is only dying because of mistakes they’ve made. They could regain some virility by undoing some of it.
For example, they could merge servers and remove cross server garbage. People run on emotions, they need to feel like people they meet are on the same realm.
Untucking crappy specs would also help. Combat in this game can be pretty fun, but if people don’t like the specs then they need fixing right away, not months down the road. There should at least be a few small, immediate, changes to tie people over until they can do something more substantial.
I think they almost want wow to fail at this point. It’s irrational, but so are humans, and they are humans. Their target audience are also humans. They need to stop making mechanical purely finance driven decisions and make the game fun. Ok I’m done bye.

You guys are so negative jeeze! The game isn’t that bad, and the world isn’t coming to an end either. They have indeed listened to the community and have made changes as a result as well. Maybe it isn’t the best expansion and it has its flaws. Some of those might get changed/adjusted while other aspects like class design are here to stay until next expansion.
Everyday on this forum it’s the end of the world and someone comes forward telling Blizzard how bad they are at making games.
