I need a blue post telling me they’re going to fix this before launch.
It COMPLETELY breaks the game.

What part of the line of sight is breaking the game?
it’s non-existant?
You can shoot and cast through anything
I am assuming you are talking about mobs casting/shooting at you through buildings and hills? I noticed that too and didn’t think that was how it worked in vanilla.
THANK YOU.
Somebody who actually played it. ^^
Ahh, yeah I questioned it to. Some surfaces you can stop their line of site and other you cannot. It’s inconsistent with what surfaces stop line of sight. Mostly in Redridge being hit by welps through the lands.
More importantly, it’s inconsistent with what surfaces blocked line of sight in Vanilla WoW, which is what I’m here to play.
So lets get some bug fixes rolling.
Besides that, there’s a bug with enemies indoors. Like when killing thugs at moonbrook, sometimes they’ll run away and WALK THROUGH THE WALL, into more mobs on the side of the building. Both situations need a fix.
I remember some of the same thing in vanilla, mobs being able to shoot through things it didn’t seem like they should. Although I don’t think it was exactly the same it’s certainly close.
Still, it was a bug back then and it’s a bug now. I don’t think there’s much fun to be had in replicating bugs…
How many of these threads you plan on making? Lol.
At least do it proper and log onto a different avatar.
As many as necessary to be heard over the static nonsense topics that are not even a fraction as important as this – due to the sense in which it directly affects the outcome and quality of the Classic WoW experience we’re all going to have.
Please stop trolling my threads.
thats consistent with vanilla WSG at least
It’s absolutely NOT consistent with Vanilla WSG.
The stumps in WSG were the only thing that allowed melee classes to be viable at midfield – that was broken some time around patch 4.0, and it’s been a change that I never understood or agreed with.
Now that you mention it, I feared a mob straight through a wall in some hut in Silver Pines. He brought all his buddies from outside to come and kill me.
If you actually want to see anything “fixed”, you are going to have to be more specific. I played the entirety of beta and didn’t experience anything unexpected with line of site mechanics.
The one thing I did notice is that you can not tab target enemies through los, which is a relatively new addition to the retail client and does not belong in Classic… but I don’t think they care.
Personally with how kiting some classes can be, we need stumps like those to block line of sight. Otherwise Frost mage will never be caught by any melee besides rogue.
Go to redridge mountains, pull a Whelp at the start, get it to shoot you through the small hill they reside on.
Why would that be unexpected behavior? Hills never acted as los obstacles in vanilla.
I hate to say it man, but if you didn’t experience anything unexpected, I doubt your experience as a player of Vanilla WoW – because your conception of Line of Sight normativity would have to stem from later iterations of the game.
If there is a TREE, and a mob is casting lightning bolt at you, you should be able to run behind the TREE, and the cast won’t complete because you are out of LINE OF SIGHT.
That’s how it worked in vanilla WoW, and that isn’t how it’s working on this stress test.
Whatever makes you happy man. Blizzard didn’t doubt my experience, as they only gave out beta invites to vanilla players and select streamers… but you enjoy your fantasy.
