What is faster in Torghast? Demonology or Destruction?

I love Affliction. But it’s not a very good spec for trying to get good times in Torghast. For me anyway.

Just figured I’d ask other Locks here how the other specs are doing. Didn’t they bring the other two specs up to speed compared to how OP Affliction was at the start of Shadowlands?

Don’t stress about the time. You are far more likely to mess up and lose potential points than jus focusing on mechanics and getting bonus points. Tower knowledge + gear will cover the time portion down the road.

It’s less a stress thing and more a “I just wanna prove to myself I can do okay”.

I’ve heard demo axe boy with anima powers start to overpower bosses alone

Ponder Well at least with demonology I won’t have to change my legendary. The one I have is the sort of “jack of all trades master of none” option and I’m alright with that

The time/speed bonus is pretty weak if you’re keeping your runs under, like, 22 minutes. Just pick the spec that balances mobility and killing efficiency best. It’s more in your best interest to 100% each floor.

He doth, though that cometh at the cost of one, very likely two bonuses.
Alas that in order to attain worthy rank one must needs hindereth theyr experience so, or else trust to the kindness of random number generation.

I personally think Destro is the strongest option. As a Warlock you should get used to taking your time though. We are not a fast class, and double checking all the corners to make sure nothing was missed is going to cost us even more time than it would for most classes.

Believe it or not, Affliction locks are actually getting a 5% damage buff across the board here soon. Running Torghast as destro may seem more efficient, but for raiding you’re gonna want to stay affi

As demo once I get one of the things that lets me insta summon + the one that drastically increases pet damage it’s gg. If you get lucky and get multiples then it’s :rofl::rofl: I wouldn’t play destro if you paid me, though. So.

I vote demonology but I’m super biased because my gnomelock is demo. He looks so cute with all his demons and imps that are as large as him going against enemies  I just got him some glasses OMG! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

I would disagree. I am destro and only play Demo on certain bosses in Mythic ToS when I need a real tank that can actually hold aggro and put out some dps.

Now I have not done new Torghast yet as I have just absolutely needed a break from logging in. But from solo’ing mythic Legacy content I can see where demo might be advantageous over Destro in Torghast for many of the same reasons.

I’d go with Demo for it’s survivability due to Felguard tanking being superior to voidwalker.

This is anecdotal, but of my characters I’ve run through torghast, my demo lock character was by far the easiest and most powerful. I’ve gotten 5 stars on all my runs without even trying.

The powers that boost demons and give multiple tyrants are so powerful. Also, you can get multiple copies of the curse of tongues +haste power, which allows you to completely melt elites. If you get the 5 phantasm per dreadstalkers cast early on, you can buy almost all the powers from the vendors.

Demonology is the perfect spec for Torghast, mostly because almost all the anima powers are somewhat useful. If you are lucky and get Pact of Infernal Intimacy early you just won the run, you felguard can easily reach 2M health and hit 30k per melee attack if you get enough stacks Pact of Thickness. The thing just destroys the entire tower by itself.

Most of the time you won’t have the Infernal Intimacy, but Pact of Thickness is good enough to demolish the place. Since it increases both damage and health of your felguard by 50%, your Tyrant is going to be VERY strong if you use the Demonic Consumption talent (You should always use this talent).

Another great thing for demo lock is that anything that boosts your character’s health also increases your pet’s health aswell and since stamina = lots of DPS for demonology, you can summon some really big Tyrants if your minions have enough HP to be consumed.

Have I told you about the anima power that summons additional Tyrants? Yeah, there is also that. More Tyrants = More HP consumed = More demonbolts hitting for stupid amounts of damage.

Nothing beats a demo lock in Torghast.

My lock alt has yet to reach 60 but has remained staunchly aff since the end of legion (destro was way more fun for me there).

I only visited Torghast because of the recent calling quest and I didn’t let the time attack schtick bother me, at it was 20 years ago when I played Return to Castle Wolfenstein

Demo I think is so OP in torgast, it’s not even close. My opinion and my experience anyway

This exactly, as a Demo main ( ilvl 222) I even run Torghast with my mate who heals I literally said “I don’t know how this could be possible without Felguard tanking” personally just makes it so much smoother!. Plus the extra stun/interrupt is a life save!.

Yeah I didn’t even think of that. Thanks! I’ll have to brush up on my demo spec.

Ok Ill bite. What does Return to Castle Wolfenstein have to do with Torghast and time attacks? I remember loving that game to bits but I don’t recall any time attacks or anything in it, so… inquiring minds need to know!
