They could be hunters since tbc i think and i wanted to know their lore.
Rangari were introduced in WoD as hunters who scout areas that Draenei visit. They were important in having the Draenei understand the landscape and threats of Draenor. There’s more information that can be found out about them on WoWpedia.
In TBC, there was no known faction of hunters for draenei, really, so much as the race being entirely refugees and thus travelling to various worlds and learning how to survive in often hostile environments. This was before the timespan retcon happened in regards to how long they stayed on a given world, so the draenei would have been accustomed to essentially carving out a new home on a new planet several times over.
With WoD, we had the introduction of the Rangari in a sort of soft retcon. As in, we’d met several draenei characters who fit the role of hunters in general, in Outland and on Azeroth, but none had mentioned the Rangari at all. The group isn’t even mentioned in Chronicle, as far as I can remember.
Suffice to say, stitching together the old and new lore, the current lore is that draenei hunters were mostly Rangari, but much like the Auchenai were almost entirely destroyed in the war with the orcs, and what remains are fragments with no particular affiliation. The alternate Draenor Rangari are now canonically all dead or evil Light zealots, so it’s down to the Outland and Azeroth draenei alone, as representations of draenei hunters.
Im sadden by this heartbreaking tale very well i shall honor their memory as a draenei hunter.
The majority of Exodar draenei lore post 2014 is indeed heartbreaking yes. Godspeed.
There was no such lore before WOD. Otherwise they function just as much as Hunters of any other species do… they’re woodland survivalists, scouts, and providers.
What exists in WOD is more lore than hunters given for Humans or any other race besides Orcs who have the only full Hunter figure of note in the franchise… Rexxar.
Sylvannas may also be technically a Hunter, but she’s been something other than that since her mortal death. She also is the creator of the Dark Ranger Hunter variant.
That can be said for the majority of lore period. We are talking about a Crapsack World after all. That’s why it’s a place with such dire need of Champions.
The Draenei Lore is pretty much the Rangeri who are Rangers or Assassins of the Draenei Society where they ether scout, protect, or pretty much are like alien woodsman in the savage wilds of draenor and other planets.
I think it just makes sense for any society to have hunters. There’s always loners who prefer the company of animals to people, who hunt and trap their own food and live off the land. I don’t think Draenei hunters need particular lore behind their inclusion, just like they don’t really need specific lore on why they have warriors.
they r draenei and they use guns ok
The Draenie people had hopped planet to planet before landing on Draenor, then later on journeying to Azeroth.
From a WoW universe logical standpoint - such feats on each planet would had required the Draenie people to have hunters for scouting the new fauna & flora to survive, along with gathering food, supplies and information - especially seeking out information that would show the Legion were on their tale once more.
