What is Dev Evoker's role in EBG's

In a world of massive front lines vs massive front lines, what exactly can you do with this spec in epics? You have the shortest range of any caster, even Ret Pally has more range. And you can’t dps for long periods of time. You essentially end up being Death Grip fodder. Aside from half a second of CC immunity during Nullifying Shroud and your 1 minute Deep Breaths, what are you doing on a Dev Evoker? You can’t fight back during Time Stop so what’s the strategy?

Dev is fun af in smaller bg’s Ill give it that but in epics, the class seems like a paperweight to me. Could be wrong though. Just seems like a huge misstep in the classes design.

Bully the melee. Strong burst + snare and the big stun really help with the first clash.

But, dev feel really repetitive in epics and get boring fast, cuz this is basicaly your sole role.

You farm any melee that gets in range to get CDR on deep breath.
You deep breath every ~45sec which is one of the most disruptive things any single player can do in an epic.
Also tip the scales fire breath for the massive AoE purge gets disgusting value in epics.

I like to play raw mastery dev for oppressive deep breath damage.

Dev evokers job is press nullifing shroud, spam sleep, nuke anything that dare live with disintegrate.

This!

Deep Breath on cooldown, it does massive damage on a team clash and stuns a huge chunk of the enemy raid team. Then port back to your take off point. As enemy melee jump into your team hit them with eternity surge and fire breath, trigger bombardments to lower deep breath cooldown, rinse and repeat. Also occasionally save a healer by using rescue when they get gripped into the enemy team. If you see a straggler / out of position player you can use sleep walk as well.

Don’t bother trying to get close enough to the frontline or you’ll just get nuked down trying to get in range (unless you have a melee heavy team and they are soaking focus from the enemy team or you have epically good healers)

Edit: Augmentation with deep breath is also great and provides some buffs to your team as well. Downside is longer time between deep breaths but does a lot more damage per use if you have Overlord as a talent.
