Its one of the spells discussed for shadow tree that doesnt involve voidform. I vaguely remember evangelism from like cata I think but i dont know of this “dark” variant.
Cast Mind Flay, get dot damage increase by 2% buff. Stacks to 5.
In Cata, you consumed the stacks to trigger your Dark Archangel buff. This increased your Mind Spell damage and Shadow Word: Death.
I would assume Dark Archangel will make it as a talent to compete with Voidform. But that could also not happen.
We shall see.

I’m interested to see how popular this will be. If only because a lot of us would like any excuse to move away from anything void related, tuning and numbers aside.

Agreed.
I wish the void side of shadow was pushed/introduced better. Pretty much it shouldn’t have become the center/core aspect of shadow spec.

It should have just been a way to generate insanity which we channel into the target via mind spells.

Now imagine you have a void eruption burst on one button every 20 secs. This was MoP shadow.
It’s only decent in PvP because of PvP talents like Void Volley/Void Origins/Driven to Madness/Megalomania.
Other than that, the VE on its own, is not that great. It’s easily shut down by cc when you go into VE, and since your damage is balanced around maintaining VF if you get cucked on your go then you’re screwed. They also nerfed how strong the stats you gain from staying in VF for a long time.
Legion SP was fun, but man I prefer pre-Legion SP even more. It’s an era of burst in PvP, and VE did nothing but tickle ppl.
