I see posts every now and again and people say stuff is too expensive or mats cost too much.
I have two questions. How are people not able to afford things and 2, what do you consider expensive?
I’ll admit I buy wow tokens but one will last me months and months. Virtually the only thing I spend gold on are repairs, transmogs, or when I get a wild hair and decide to pay to level professions on all of my alts. I play extremely lazily, I don’t flip auction houses, I’m not gathering mats to sell. I’m not doing any gold earning strategies other than selling what I pick up. Yet I have more than I’ll ever need from just one token.
When I need gear made for my sparks, financially it’s but a drop in the bucket.
Is no one else doing this?
Potions are for wimps and I try to cook my own food.
Genuinely curious how people have money woes in game.

I believe for the first few weeks the token prices were relatively cheap , as of now its even . The prices of mats have dropped and are dropping further and token price is stabilizing around 200k
I judge it based of how much I can make per hour of farming materials.
If an enchant is equivalent to me farming ore for 2-3 hours I’m just not going to buy it.

10k plus for one item, 5k or so for single mat costs I start checking my budget.
Spent 100k in mats for a crafted sword.
That right there.
Is an hour of farming enjoyable game time for you? If so more power to you but as the goblins say, time is money friend.
Weirdly yeah, I’ve always enjoyed farming ore & herbs in WoW lol.
Not when I’m actively playing, but it’s what I do on my 2nd monitor when watching something

I stand corrected, didn’t know they could get that expensive.
The cost of consumables and crafted items has gone way up compared to the final 3 seasons of Dragonflight, so I can understand why people feel things are expensive.
there are no recipes i’m aware of that are actually cheaper to make yourself, so calling “not likely” on this one
Anything above 1 copper is too expensive. Make Azeroth Great Again

You got me on that one. I leveled fishing to cook for myself, didn’t work that way. I “tried” but failed.
Edit: but also cooking mats are pretty darn cheap

To be fair, this was week one. They might’ve went down, but since I ain’t ever having anything crafted ever again (prolly a lie), I haven’t checked.
It is wild to think that once upon a time 1k gold for an epic mount was an insurmountable tasks, now world quests drop almost 1k gold.

oh yeah, they are. but you need insane amounts to make any of the good food.
Expensive: more gold than I have
Cheap: less gold than I have

My own customizable house with a mount that instantly lets me teleport back and forth from it for 20m gold.
I was able to get just over 900k at the start of TWW. Which is by far the most gold I’ve had in a while (been only playing for ~2 years).
I know I’ve nope’d out of making some patron WOs that would cost me about ~40k in mats to make.
Bots making it impossible to gather and sell mats on the auction house. A lot of people made money that way almost exclusively.
First bots came and crashed mats. Now they dominate the auction house too.
