What is concidered a class trial exploit?

Now I’m going to just go and ask this bluntly because I’m scared and need help. I’ve been grinding 7th legion service medals for weeks and I noticed I could just make infinite trial characters do the weekly warfront quests, transfer them to my main character, then delete and repeat. Is this an exploit? Don’t want to get in trouble

I mean it’s legacy content so I don’t think it’s that big of a deal to me anyway. Sounds like an issue with the new warband system not taking that into account perhaps?

I made a post about this in Facebook and multiple people called it an exploit but I thought exploits are bugs? If I’m able to do it how is it an exploit?

I don’t know I used to make tons of characters in SL to farm gold on the mission table I guess that might be seen as unintentional too.

But I have honestly no idea and frankly it’s old content so to me it doesn’t matter.

In my opinion its not an exploit, there’s far worse things you can be doing in this game that are an exploit. 7th legion medals are not going to affect others gameplay in any other way. You won’t get in trouble, but I’m also not a GM.

Also facebook WoW groups tend to be quick to jump the gun on specific topics without much knowledge on their part. I’d stay away from them tbh.

If you are making and deleting temporarily boosted characters over and over to gather a resource, it feels to me like you are on thin ice.

At this point you’re essentially just arguing that the resource you are gathering is not valuable enough to be considered an exploit.

Not an exploit. If they didn’t want you to transfer currency from trial characters they would stop that from happening.

Exploit…I like the term clever use of game mechanics doesn’t sound like its a bug that you’re using just an oversight that the devs didn’t think of I say go for it.

Eh, creating a char to earn something that’s clearly meant to be limited by chars then deleting it and repeating seems kind of grey area. Even if the currency is kind of worthless beyond a few mounts.

If they didn’t want that, they would have made trials not able to transfer currency.

Honestly decent chance this eventually happens. :dracthyr_crylaugh:

If it’s exploiting an unintended interaction or method for doing something that otherwise is time gated in some way it’s risky for sure. Idk how much they monitor legacy stuff, so it might be not really bad, but you need to weigh the risk vs reward. Iirc at least one person has gotten a ban of some sort for abusing legacy items and repeatable quests to hit a new level cap hours after expansion launch, so there’s an argument to be made it could be called an exploit. The delete and repeat part is where the problem may lie, rather than just doing it on legitimate alts them transferring and using them later.
