What is Common Sense?

This was inspired by a particular post on another thread.
So I will just be as blunt as I can be.
What do you think Common Sense is, and entails in World of Warcraft? Azeroth, Draenor, Argus, Shadowlands, anywhere.

Different from uncommon sense, rare sense, epic sense, and legendary sense I guess.

It is clearly Alliance Bias, since they use Common.

But more seriously, not even 5D Chess Mistress Sylvanas knows Nathanos was killed, while every Murderhobo within kill credit knows. Even her Loyalists likely jumped in for the loot.

Nathanos being off’ed is common knowledge to some, and a revelation to others.

The world is flat, duh.

For not having any schools except Scholomance, the people of Azeroth seem better educated than most players.

I heard Scholomance’s entry fees are murder, though.

Common sense is knowing good doggos(worgen) don’t like belly rubs if you aren’t their friends. Like duh  :wolf:

I see what ya did there :smirk:… that’s why I went to Pandaren monastery university… the entry fee was oranges. Sadly all I learned how to do there was be a one man army with like 3 black belts and how to party…

  • in-game there is none
  • Meta analysis wise it’s being aware the devs are not beholden to even themselves

I have no idea what this thread was meant to be.

That’s pretty good lol

I feel like it’s referencing something, but I have no idea what.

I seriously think that people in the Warcraft universe inherently operate with different logic. It’s why political leaders regularly go into battle despite how life threatening it is, and why an unexperienced teenager is made the supreme leader for a coalition of nations. Common sense in the Warcraft universe is different than our common sense.

It’s no different than in CSI when the investigators are there, for some reason, during arrests. Or in Star Trek, when the bridge crew also get beamed down to serve as frontline soldiers. “The Main Characters Do Everything” is a trope for a reason: people want to see their favourite characters getting the focus, even if it would make more sense for Footman #874 to go in there and wreck face than Genn.

As for Anduin? He’s got the right last name, and that’s more realistic than I think anybody here would like to admit.

Is it still true that most Horde races know Common as well, as the de facto “universal politics” language? Or did I hallucinate that during a fever dream like a decade ago?

Nah, I was unsubscribed by then. Didn’t find out about it until I came back to hang out with vampires.
