In all my time of playing wow i have never seen this area of the map before, and when i saw it today i was confused. was this added recently?
It’s been in the game since Burning Crusade. It’s the Draenei 10-20 zone, similar to ghostlands but worse and noone does it.

Noooooo. This has been here since at minimum cata (when I joined), probably before. It’s part of the Draenei starting zone, so if you’ve never played one you’ve probably never had a reason to go there, unless you just wanted to explore all of Kalimdor.
The second worst zone in the entire game. Stay away from it. Stay far, far away.

I played tbc and never saw “Bloodmyst isle” ever introduced.
The whole Draenei starting zone is awful. No suprise you haven’t heard of it.

I leveled my hunter there back in wrath.
Has a nice little storyline and everything. It’s just so ugly.
Complete opposite of it’s neighboring isle. One is calm and soothing the other angry and headache inducing.

I remember hiding on a boat and swimming out to that island as an orc hunter to get the Ravager pet at like level 10 and get the Blood Elf Bandit Mask.

Been there because of Kalimdor Explorer achievement, I think I gave low level Draeneis heart attacks. I entered it and hearthed out so fast.

O god I remember farming for that for hours on a blood elf I walked all the way from ghostlands to get. Such a journey to even get there.
Now that was an adventure.

I think it’s the omni-red color scheme of the zone that is so off-putting, since the questlines there (which I’ve completed a few times) weren’t really any better or worse than anywhere else. Also, it’s really out of the way for those who aren’t playing new Draenei.
Bloodmist Isle is the “Ghostlands” of Draenei characters.
The only noticeable thing about it was that it contained the very first female Man’ari Eredar character in the Warcraft Franchise.
