What is blizzard's obsession with Difficulty levels?

The best part of classic was there was 1 difficulty, it was pass/fail. Now we keep getting multiple difficulties. Edit: I have cleared H3 and will continue to clear the content, IDK why people seem to think this is a “it is too hard” post, it is not, and people that keep saying it are ignorant.

MC has LFR, Normal, and Heroic.
Is BWL going to have 6 difficulties? No trial, Red, Bronze, Green, Blue, and I have heard people saying Black is also a thing.
This is getting out of hand.

I don’t understand why it bothers you. If you don’t want difficulty levels, just play at the easiest difficulty. Problem solved. Or is it that you don’t want to take the time to play at the hardest difficulties but you don’t want to be jelly at the people who get the cool cosmetic gear from doing it?

I have zero interest in the easiest difficulty, your post is nonsense and irrelevant to the conversation.

Out of all the things that made Classic great, I’m not sure I would pick this as the one.

I’m sorry you have trouble understanding the English language then; however, your original post contributes nothing to Season of Discovery.

It is an ok idea. The zugs can self impose challenge and the pugs can get the same loot stat wise with a casual difficulty, those who want to be challenged can try for 3heat/6dragon. I mean if I were them and I am not I would continue this in aq40 given how rng the fight can be with tenticle pushes, but for naxx/aq40 I would have maybe 2 difficulties on separate lockouts since that might give 2 shots at loot and casual guilds might clear hard mode spider+ plague and still get some sweet loot.

Because they should have done trial in wrath on separate locks for normal and heroic as having people think is it worth potentially locking myself out of heroic for a better chance of clearing on normal was annoying.

Difficulty levels are just another way to split up the population, gatekeep, and cause drama between the ones that want to push and those that do not.

It is bad on several fronts, it always has been difficulty levels were introduced.

If you can’t down higher heat levels there’s nothing to be ashamed of that’s why there’s multiple. You can still do normal MC and get the exact same loot as the harder versions!! Just because you don’t like it doesn’t mean everyone else should suffer. And if that’s a problem for you then you can pick up another game. No shame in it! Hope you have a great day Revir :people_hugging:

Back in the day, Vanilla content filtered boomers.

Nowadays, if you filter the boomers, they whine it isn’t “Classic”, even though they got filtered back in 2004. So Blizzard has to pander and cave, making easy mode base difficulty for the boomers and then making harder difficulties for people who want actual gameplay.

I mean, look at how many deranged boomers cried for flex raiding. It’s insane. It’s actually kind of insane.

this :expressionless:

retail players typically don’t get it yeah :expressionless:

Those people want two different guilds/raids, so I’m not sure why this would cause drama.

people who want difficulties want a different game than classic :expressionless:

The thing is if you want more difficulty and more loot you don’t need a mode bring less people easy enough yeah?

True. The raids need a single difficulty that is hard enough that only the top 20% of players can clear it.

I have cleared it and will continue to do so.
People are continuing to miss the point of the post on purpose.
BTW there is an entire boss you cannot access on lower heat levels, so your post is wrong.

This is a good compromise. There are difficulty levels but the only reward is a cosmetic change.

Whats the fuss?

id they just make mc a 5 man dungeon instead, then we can have 1 difficulty and not have to worry right? the difficulty is bc these raids have been done and farmed for 20 years. difficulty is to add something new to accomplish, but being a similar game.

loads of AAA games have “new game+” or multiple difficulties so you can play the game you enjoy, but make it harder

Regular scheduled reminder the WoW was AKSHEWALLY a casual-friendly MMO compared to many of its competitors.
