What is against the rules when Multiboxing

wtf kind of psychotic false dichotomy is that?

Baldurs gate is a single player turn based rpg…

yeah and doing the exact same thing as a solo player in WoW is exactly the same with a higher skill cap

Um no. In WoW you play as one character.

And it’s an MMO…it’s not a solo game. There are no “solo players”. Players are always next to you. Putting stuff on the auction house. Trying to tag the same mobs as you. Ect ect.

Multiboxing doesn’t belong in WoW. It’s cheating. Straight up.

MMO = many players in an onlin persistant world. FOrced grouping died with EQ and people came to WoW because WoW advertised itself as a solo playable game. Its on the Vanilla box - play solo or enlist friends

multiboxing was invented because of forced grouping. I did it in EQ long before WoW was ever relased

There is no forced grouping in WoW, so you don’t need multiboxes.

There are rewards for grouping. That solo players do not have access to. And that was a deliberate choice by the game designers.

Multiboxers would just be richer and better geared than every other solo player…aka, cheating.

Haha same

No they just are better players who can do on 2 what you can only do on one

Therefore, they SHOULD get better rewards for more challenging play

Go away schizo.

That’s why I did it in EQ.
Had a guild and much of what I got in drops like gems or spell research materials for example went to the guild.

There are folks in Wow that multibox for the challenge. Not to get rich or sell gold - shocking I know. Not all are like that. But to totally rule out multiboxing isn’t the answer. Blizzard has tried to target the most egregious cases. The player that has a team of 2-5 characters and isn’t being a disruption in the zone to others playing/questing isn’t the problem. Most of the players I’m talking about are chill and will help you blow through that quest or get the drop you need to move forward.

Some run instances. Are they farming for drops? Probably. Does this prevent the item from dropping for you when you group up for the dungeon? True the boxer isn’t sharing the coin or drops with others and may also be AH savvy. But there’s nothing stopping a solo player from making bank on the AH too.

Multiboxing the Blizzard-approved way is a challenge. Cheating and doing it in a way that violates Blizzard’s stated policy is reason for account action. One way is not like the other.

I used to multibox or box on my toons while my son plays his account.

I dont PvP (would prefer a No PvP under any circumstances except maybe BGs server)
I dont play AH baron
I dont try to corner markets

I like being completely selfsufficient (think SSF)
I like having every prof
I like having multiple classes
I like doing quests on my own - even elite ones

I dont multibox any more other than maybe a follow on a dual box alt tabbing between clients but I have even seen where a second client stops working when alt tabbing to another - I had 2 chars on auto run and switching caused one toon to stop running. Happened a couple of days in a row

Just not worth it

I’ve met others that feel the same. Nothing wrong with that. Especially if playing with or lending a hand to family or friends.

Im gonna sunfire spam and multibox using a footpedal. What are you gonna do about it?

They’ve explicitly ruled it isn’t cheating. Your opinion or feelings on the matter is kind if irrelevant. People getting reported for it, if they’re not using broadcasting methods, is erroneous.

Pretty sure their stance changed a while ago on multiboxing, where they no longer allow it. One button press means one action. If you are pressing one button to perform multiple actions at once, especially on multiple characters, then it’s against their policy.

They allow multiboxing, just not 3rd party key mirroring or broadcasting software or hardware.

Problem is, they have no support staff and players get erroneous reports from people who can’t understand the difference. Since the reporting system is automated, people sometimes get unjustly banned despite not breaking any rules.

Using a mouse wheel for macros is not against the ToS…

Edit: I fell for the trap of replying to a hateful troll. Going to report and move on.

Yeah, you can literally bind the mouse wheel to action bars in the base game UI.

You don’t even need to tab. You are able to have more than one monitor on a computer.

It is, actually.
