I started using RaiderIO yesterday. And looked over their scoring tier. 7000 score is pretty high
So im wondering do you keep earning points no matter what xpac? Does it reset every xpac? Confused on this. Thanks

doesnt reset every tier, but it has reset after the one and only major xpac since it came out, being from legion to bfa. in this case, they are as far as i know just introducing a new level 10 affix. really stupd, imo. they need an entire affix rework
That is pretty high. The very best players are in the 2500 to 3000 range. A score of 1000 usually means you have done all the dungeons at a level of 5-7 with a few 10s in there.
Your score resets every tier. These tiers are tied to in-game benchmarks. A new tier begins when a new raid opens, the PvP season resets, and other end game rewards scale up in accordance. Blizzard has arranged for all these things to happen at the same time. It will always be at or just after a new patch is released. The next reset will be Jan 22 when Battle for Dazar’Alor opens. That season will run until just after 8.2 drops and the Najatar raid opens. That will probably be sometime in May.
Yup welcome to Wow epsorts, which makes WoW no longer an RPG, but just a lackluster MMO.

A score of 1000 will generally mean you 1 starred all dungeons at 10. For hitting a dungeon on time (not 2 staring it, but the bare minimum), you generally get 10 points per m+ level, and there are 10 dungeons.
So a single m+10 will net you 100 points if met on time.

Only if you have a major head injury and try to fill it with salt. For those of us not on the trauma ward it actually adds a whole new dimension of endgame play aside from raiding and PvP. Remember when dungeons became irrelevant a week after capping because you outgeared them? Good times?

Which is why I said…
a few 10s in there.
There are several paths to +1000 score.

Just like pvp they have started seasonal mythic+.

I am not seeing anyone getting to 1000 RaiderIO using mostly dungeons in the 5-7 range, with a few 10s in there. Much less “usually”.
That is all I am saying.
I suppose its possible if you 3 star every 5-7, intentionally never try for anything harder. But that is far from usually. It would be pretty rare.
Right now a m+ season is just some timeline that coincides with raid tier patches. It has no other function.
What it really needs is leaderboards and end of season rewards (transmogs, titles etc), like an arena season.

It’ll prob reset every tier in bfa, since there’s real m+ seasons now (where they switch the 10+ affix).
