That’s how the whole Azerite system works, it’s supposed to slow things down and keep you on your toes for your next WF/TF upgrade.
Gating is part of the whole deal, just like AP farming. Nothing to do about it, they didn’t change it despite all the complaints they got, what makes you think they’ll improve this whole charade?
I’m curious why you include Mythic raids in your post. The vendor only sells azerite from M+ dungeons and was added for M+ players to address azerite gear acquisition for people running M+.
Raiders get plenty of chances at azerite gear(literally every boss in the current raid) and don’t really need BLP for azerite.
Doubtful. It’s much more likely they just blanket flagged all azerite pieces as unsellable in an attempt to get people to scrap/DE them for residuum, without the forethought of residuum-yielding level thresholds.
Just thinking ahead. True min-maxers will take overflow azerite pieces, gather the residuum, and try to target specific items that have specific traits, assuming they don’t seek to stack Treacherous Covenant.
Anyone else desperately miss Justice/Valor system?
Justice points from easier, repeatable content. Valor from limited sources and harder content?
Everyone could get gear with that system and it was 1000% better than residuum.
They generally have reasons for doing things, even though a lot of people don’t like them. This guy is just saying oversight when an oversight doesn’t really make sense.
I read it more like OP was asking why Blizzard added incentive to not be nice.
You are literally hurting your personal progression by helping others, where before you only missed out on a bit of gold or some enchanting materials, both of which were easily acquired from other sources.
In regards to anything about the azerite system, I do not. The system was poorly designed from the beginning. How many trait tuning passes have they done since it’s inception? Most of which should have been done during development/PTR if they had introduced the system with ample time to test and reiterate data.
All new systems have some tuning, that’s expected. But wave after wave of tuning, delete this, introduce that, tune it again – all in the live version? That is evident of something that was nowhere near completion when it was released, and yet another sign that the Blizzard of today is a far far cry from the Blizzard that used to polish and repolish material before release.
Plus the fact they’ve decided to do a major overhaul of one of the core systems of this expansion, halfway through the expansion, is more evidence that the system doesn’t work.
I am a Blizzard fan, and I can give them benefit of the doubt in many things, because its impossible to please everyone – but the azerite system has been a wreck from its inception, and for that, I cannot give them any credit they don’t earn.
No I understand. I never ask for gear. I’m just saying it would be nice to bring back 370 azerite armor to incursions. I just leveled a shadow priest (the horror…I feel bad for other shadow priests because they seem a bit low on the dps) and he has mostly 370s except for his azerite which sits at 355 except for the shoulders which dropped off the Alliance tank in Arathi Highlands.
You know what irritates me the most about it? It’s that Blizzard had maybe a dozen different systems they could have copied, all the way from BC Badges to Legions Wakening Essence system, and it Residuum would have been perfectly fine.
All they’d have to do is tweak the numbers to match whatever metrics they wanted, and it would have been much better received.
Instead Blizzard have to reinvent the wheel and completely screw the system
