What if your Ats

Could be combat allies?

It would be cool if there was a set up page where you could select things for your combat ally to say;

  • upon death
  • upon summon
  • upon being low on health
  • upon victory

You travel around with your alt, getting them gear and xp and they could randomly have dialogue that you programed them to say.

Just a random idea.

Sounds a tad game breaking, but fun nonetheless!

My current toons quotes would be as follows:

Upon Death

  • I knew… I shoulda… stayed in Acherus.
  • Not… again…
  • You… rat… bastard…

Upon Summon

  • Out with it; what’s the mission this time?
  • This better be worth it, maggot.
  • Shadows gather, “friend”…

Upon Low Health

  • Even I have my limits!
  • Give me a hand here if you don’t wanna die!
  • GAH! My spleen! You’ll pay for that!

Upon Victory

  • Another one bites the dust…
  • Onto the next victim!
  • I really could use something to eat right now.

What would be cool is player housing and you can have them walk around as NPCs. Might actually undelete my hunter and warrior.

Its in no way game breaking. SWTOR has had player companions forever. Wow is in dire need of things that add to the fun and creativity of the game.

To clarify, having you alts as your companion (as op stated) and leveling/gearing them all the while is game breaking , and not to mention it would obliterate Blizzard’s time played metric requirement. Leveling two characters for the time of one? Not a chance.

My current toon’s quotes would be as follows:

Upon Death

  • Off to see Bwamsamdi… again…
  • Gah! Didn’t bubble… in time…
  • Agh! Lucky… shot…

Upon Summon

  • We’d better not be hugging critters again!
  • Good timing! I was starting to get bored!
  • Serious mode. Got it.

Upon Low Health

  • It’s time to break out the Light!
  • Haha! It’s looking like it’s bubble-hearth time!
  • I’ll be paying Bwamsamdi another visit real soon!

Upon Victory

  • There was never a doubt.
  • Haha, that was easy!
  • Where’s the REAL challenge?

lol You should make a bonus quote for when your main decides to bubble-hearth while he’s out.

“Hey, where ya be goin’! We ain’t done yet!”

I think they should summon a battle pet (if you choose to have them do so) of your choosing to fit their personality.

And, of course, you’d choose the mount they utilize.

I’d also like to be able to stage your other alts in various locations.

Or maybe, instead of the generic, “zandalari adventurer,” that you see running by in the portal room, the game could display some of your alts.

I want this sheerly so i can have a parade of male Draenei and Night Elves in slutty transmogs killing things for their aloof mistress.

…While my Husband watches in disgust.

(Edit: Oh god, i want to be a neutral nature loving Azshara…)

Combat allied should be other players in MMORPG.

We don’t need even more departure from that.

Nithenarina, I’ve encountered your posts many times over the forums and they’re almost always negative.

Are you a contrarian? I’m just curious.

Well now I need this.

To piggyback on this idea, could you imagine sending your alts out on assignments via the mission table?

It’d be fun to log in as them mid-mission and find a way to 200% said mission.

It wouldn’t really be a stretch at this point imo. Blizzard realizes that folks are getting burnt with leveling alts, but they also realize some folks don’t enjoy the mission board. Letting folks send alts out for these missions for experience just seems like a good way to have more folks utilize the mission board and hate it a bit less due to being useful outside gold missions.

In my mind, there would be a caveat to utilizing your alts on mission board missions. That caveat being that they’re not accessible while out and about.

The other side of me would like it if Blizzard made world quests synced with the mission board. Send your alt to help out in Darkshore? You can either let it complete passively via mission board or do it on the alt itself for increased xp.

I agree to, both the caveat, and the idea that the mission table/world quests being linked and shared by your characters.

The only holdup I think people may have is;

  • do they consider their alts as existing in their main’s reality? (Sidekicks)
  • or are the alts the mains of their own reality (hero of Azeroth)

For me, my army of alts are all sidekicks to my main, Krutz.

Don’t get me wrong; they’re all friends and work together.

But Krutz is the true hero.

Give people both. They have been working on the bodyguard AI. They started this with the guys back in MoP where you kill a certain amount of creatures to level them up. Then they introduced that gnome in Legion from Nessingwary that you train to hunt, now they’ve gone all in with Naz’jatar with three bodyguard options that level up via daily quests.

Some people will always hate bodyguards so the old fashion way + new open world world quests will be for them.

There is a concern in terms of old dungeon participation. If folks are just leveling their alts via bodyguard in current content, then participation in lower level dungeons will decrease.

If we are leveling alts in current content, it would be fun to reflect that they’re level 10 in a 120 zone. They’re pulling everything around them. Repeatedly dying. Chaos haha.

Hahaha! I hadn’t even considered leveling level 10s! All of my alts are 120 so I was blind to that possibility!

That WOULD be fun.

Imagine if, at level 10, they’d have a smaller model and grow up as they level?
