With 10.2.6 a secret and slated for a release in march everyone has theories, and many of them revolve around Pirates. My personal theory is Brawler’s guild. But, that being said…what if we’re all wrong? What if there’s no pirates? What if there’s no Brawler’s guild?
What theories can you guys come up with that don’t involve those two concepts. Go nuts. Have fun, heck be silly. Let’s see how creative we can be.

The biggest clue is that the event will be “open” to anyone with a subscription.
So it probably wont be an event that currently exists only in retail or classic. Thus, I would bet against brawlers guild. I guess pirates could be a possibility, but I am also doubtful about that.
My guess is that its going to be something completely new. It could even be something on a tournament or test server.
Guess 1: It’ll be a treasure hunt where players have to decipher clues/riddles to find locations. (Skull/Cross bones = Pirate Treasure)
Guess 2: It’ll be a tournament realm event that lets us just have fun killing all of the bosses in the game wearing whatever gear we want. (Skull/Cross Bones = Danger)

I’m betting 15 minute quest. Story beats about the importante of family. Transmog item for retail, pet for classic.

I think when they specifically called out that everyone would have access was a bit unusual. To me it suggested a new type of throw-away server would be created, where the devs could go crazy with the rules. Mages becomes tanks, hunters becomes healers, silly stuff like that.
An interesting concept…but I don’t know if I’d call that an event like they described it. And limiting it to one server instead of an event on all servers would not work too well. Wouldn’t garner much attention.
Maybe this time the fel-orcs will apologize, as demons are well known for doing, and The Horde will get just a little redder.

I mean, red is a good color. It’s no Midnight Blue or Indigo, but it’s a solid color. And plays well with Black.

The skull means all race versions of undead! I’ve cracked it!
What if the pirate flag was a red herring all along and it’s actually about ninjas.

I see what you did there. Okay, Vampirates. Event where we face off against the Dread pirate Vlad Dracul Nightsqual and through sheer willpower, and endless repetition unlock the neutral San’layn race and a coffin boat mount.

I’m personally still confused about when they said it would be open for retail and classic. There are still people repeating this like it’s a shared event, but apparently there was clarification on Twitter that it was only occurring on retail?
Regardless, the biggest clue seems to be that it’s a play on input from the community. So I’d imagine that whatever it is will not be serious, and will instead be a joke toke on numerous fan theories, such as the pirate thing.
I’m unconvinced that some of the code that points to a rogue-like mini game is anything to be taken seriously. I don’t see why Blizz would put the effort in to hide everything but still let slip that they are building a new mini game.
Anything pirate related content will obviously be a snap back by workers after the whole ‘no pirates’ thing by certain people. I would not be surprised if it’s a pirate themed secret discovery event where a new clue is released every day.
They mean it’ll be accessible without the new expansion. Meaning it’ll be old world stuff, probably available for any level, meaning Classic players can make a new character on retail and be able to play whatever they’re adding without hoops.
All races can now be shaman, paladin, and druid.
Thats my maybe guess.

I’m really at a loss for what “anyone with a subscription” could mean, but that pretty much means it will be something I’m probably not going to care about.
It means it’s not locked behind the expansion or certain levels or anything, giving everyone access.
