I would be fine with that but people already got titanforging removed.
What he suggested might benefit the game. People doing that type of content are always complaining about alts, essences, titanforging because they already have plenty of content to do without that stuff.
… to be quite honest, that is HORRIFICALLY backwards.
The items identified are largely “power boosts”, which actually has more value for the progression-minded players.
Casuals benefit from these systems, yes… but they don’t really “care” for them. Especially if they are annoyingly grindy and subject to extreme RNG. If they get them, it’s a nice bonus… but they aren’t going out of their way to get them. I’d even venture to say they don’t even care about them, and may not even take advantage of them (for example, empty gem slots).
So you’re mostly left with progression-minded players causing a stir because of an annoying random grind (especially when they act like the benefits should be exclusive to them for putting in the effort)… while casual players outright skip the annoying and random grind because it’s dull, and are often forced to get defensive because progression-minded players like to blame them for their own difficulties with the system.
Thinking about it that way, removing those sources of division (even if it seems they’re being used as excuses for the most part, as neither side actually likes them) sounds like a better plan.
… if only to slow down the complaining while everyone starts looking for something else to make a big stink about.
Instead of these things disabling when in mythic or rated pvp petition for a complete removal of the ap grind. This benefits all as the ap grind is crazy for all. I hope we never see anything like the neck again. I would also rather not see anything like azerite gear again.
There is ways to have all sides flourish. The rng complaint. Less rng only benefits all sides. We all have content we enjoy and content we don’t touch or engage in as much. This doesn’t mean we can’t keep the game and the entire community in mind when asking for changes. Only short sightedness keeps us from seeing things that can benefit all.
At the end of the day we are all the player base. Yes we run and enjoy different content but it benefits us all to have changes that benefit us all.
Think about it like this. You make the boost needed for the place you actually would grind them but not needed for higher level content. It’s backwards.
The thing is Blizzard should have focused on one thing instead of splitting into 50 different directions but, Its far too late to change any one thing too much or the whole jenga tower could collapse so they do what they can to try to appease everyone which leaves no real room for depth in any one part of the game.
