They do a Faction overhaul so have to pick between Robot or Dreadlord.

You got some lore to catch up. We literally were robots, titan creations. the old gods affected us with the curse of flesh which turned us into flesh beings.
For the alliance anyway,
Humans: Mutated Vyrkul who were original titan stoneborn
Gnomes: mechagnomes
Dwarfs: stoneborn
Draenei: Aliens
Elves came from trolls
Orcs: aliens
Trolls and tauren as far as we know are original lifeforms. not sure about goblins but their underground lifestyle would imply the possibility of them being a kind of stoneborn at some point too

Honestly, everything being super synthetic, 3D printed by ‘ThE FiRsT OnEs’ or a robot just makes the lore seem super lame - which was already made rather lame by inserting Zovaal behind every major plotline, cheapening the whole experience immensely.
If I wanted a world where the magic was sucked out of it, and replaced with robots - I’d play Starcraft or some other Scifi game. I’d like WoW to move away from mechanical machinations & technlogy to be honest. Go back to the roots.
If I could have my way, I’d also restore the lore to what it use to be along with making ‘Chronicles’ the bible of lore instead of it what it is now — For those that don’t know Blizzard changed Chronicles to only partially canon with “NaH iTs jUsT tHe fLaWeD PeRsPeCtIvE oF tHe TiTaNs!”.

In my timeline, defeating the Legion unites all of Azeroth in peace and prosperity and once each of my character completes it, they will retire to live happily ever after.
No BfA, no Shadowlands, no serious retcons!

Technically these are soul-less avatars that we project our will through, but for Blizzard to make it a story beat just speaks of how poorly thought-out in taste their ideas have become either out of radically ideologically forced needs for change revolving around poor work-place relations or just really, really bad taste in story twists.
I for one really hated the twist in Bioshock Infinite, since I was already aware of the multiverse theory being a thing. Using it to cheat failed objectives seems dumb to me.
Company culture affects alot on creativity
How can a quest designer create a good quest if some guy constantly comes to her cubicle and harass her.

Imagine how it’s our character minds now, like you are just flying casually in the place where everything was created, went to the sepulcher of the gods ++, like the actual super gods. Then we are friends of the Arbiter himself.
