Aside from the obvious answers, what would’ve happened had he’d refused the Forsaken into the Horde? What if he even offered to help the Alliance retake Lordaeron instead in order to improve relationships? Would Azeroth be better or worse off if such an event happened?
I feel the Forsaken, even with their regained sanity, would have sided then with Arthas. At least they’d have a home then.
Then you wouldn’t have the plague research to counteract it when Arthas returned and Arthas would have won.
Forsaken wouldve made their own Faction with the Blood Elves.
Wrathgate wouldve still happened.
Attack on Gilneas wouldve still eventually happened.
Like that ever helped at all.
But still, let’s say rather than admit the Forsaken in, he instead offered to help the Alliance take back Lordaeron? What pros and cons would happen?
The Paladins and Scarlet Crusade would’ve purged the world of the scourge scum in northern Eastern Kingdoms and Northrend would’ve just remained a frozen wasteland
No, instead the Forsaken would just find another WMD and use it to start eradicating Alliance villages, and without Thrall/Garrosh/Vol’jin to hold their leash. Sylvanas was the problem, and the Alliance would have likely hurled themselves at the Forsaken in vein, especially considering they’d have to fight their way through the majority of the Scourge just to get at them.
I thought the cow people let them in the horde, not thrall.
Correct me if im wrong
No, you’re right. Hammul vouched for the Forsaken, believing them capable of redemption. It was still Thrall’s decision.
That being said, I wonder if Hammul still thinks that after Teldrassil.
Then The Legion would have invaded Azeroth during Wrath of The Lich King, and we’d all be dead.
No Forsaken in The Horde means no betrayal at wrathgate, no betrayal at wrath gate means no armies retaliate at undercity.
Which means Varmathris kicks off the legion invasion unimpeded.
The Stormwind Alliance had about 15 more pressing concerns than retaking Lordaeron after WC3, including you know…rebuilding Stormwind.

Diplomatic relations with the alliance would probably be stronger on account of not harboring the almost-scourge.

Would Azeroth be better or worse off if such an event happened?
How could Azeroth possibly be worse for absence of the forsaken? That particular society should have been strangled in the proverbial crib.

Well you certainly wouldn’t have the Tink Tink meme now would you?!
I hope Tink Tink bears fruit and Bannerbae becomes the new Dark Lady.

How would that even work out? With Lordaeron theoretically reclaimed and Forsaken forced out, how would Varimathras work out his invasion?

Except the city was already rebuilt when WoW was launched, and considering they were able to contribute to the SHifting Sands war, I’m sure they would’ve considered Thrall’s offer.
Who would reclaim it? Between the amounts of rogue scourge, and the scarlet crusade who was under the control of another Dreadlord, I doubt The Alliance would have pushed into Lordaeron that soon.
Especially with threats like Onxiya, Ragnaros and so on their front door.
Even if The Scarlet Crusade wiped out the Forsaken, that’s still a Dreadlords scheme, they’d still summon the legion.

True. Not to mention a lot of the Horde, mostly orcs and trolls, might feel a little upset that they’re doing all of this for the Alliance. Might begin to question Thrall’s leadership.
