What if the "True Timeline" was already changed?

What if the “True Timeline” that the Bronze Dragonflight seek to protect, guide and build to their image (usually by the titans designs) of ‘what-should-be’ — has already been changed?

For example:

  • What if Tiffin, Varian’s wife had lived and endured to current timeline until a surviving corrupted Black Dragon went back in time as a visage & threw a stone during the riot years ago; killing her and resetting the timeline — with the same outcome portraying for most major events, save except small powerful moments and a few disastrous changes in a short-few major ones that furthered the goals of void?
  • What if Sylvanas had originally survived Arthas and his purge of Quel’Thalas – but sinister forces struck a bargain with one another to infiltrate the timeways and rebuild the timeline where they blockaded her advance in favour of Arthas & all but seal her fate, resulting in her downfall & transformation into undeath?
  • What if Gul’dan was a grand-shaman, bestowed with revered nobility and ascended by the spirits of the elements — Before such sinister forces like the above scenarios, had decided he was too much of an irritating threat and needed to be guided to another path; so he was off their backs in the present, ultimately influencing the timeways subtly to result in the harsher mistreatment of him by his clan and discovery of the Legion? …

What if one jealous / zealous individual, ambitious or sinister faction (or several) have already successfully changed the timeline — But the result(s) of how our timeline played out had still ultimately resulted in relatively acceptable outcomes in the present time-flow to the bronze dragons & the titans schemes (or simply proved too difficult to confront after already failing to prevent such changes; such as what happened with Iridikron), that the Bronze Dragonflight simply accepted such inconveniences / figured to deal with later on, kept such intricate or dramatic changes to secrecy and merely moved forward? …

Feel free to speculate, discuss and share your thoughts!

It was already changed with Knaak’s atrocious books shoving his self insert into a story he had no business being in.

I think WoD was an example of the “True Timeline” changing, with side effects erupting from it like Anachronos knowing he was to help the Horde open the way to AU Draenor to recruit the AU Mag’har.

I just find it hard to believe that the “True Timeline” was always meant to intersect with another timeline and what not.

Idk what you to do the timeways to ensure gul’dan is born crippled and thus mistreated by his clan, what butterfly effect is that

It’s not entirely far fetched, especially in the WoW universe. :person_shrugging:

  • Ensuring Gul’dan is born crippled? Dark magics inflicted upon the mother to ensure a crippled birth
  • and mental manipulation of other clan members from childhood to ensure they see Gul’dan as a weakness to be beaten & a burden to be expunged or rid of …

As they say, nurture over nature can apply a powerful effect … But applying both together? Well, that’s a whole other story of power. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

The One True Timeline is basically just the one where things go the way Aman’thul wants it to, at this point. Which, to their credit, does allow for things like bringing in AU Gul’dan and the Mag’har, even though it otherwise seems like undesirable meddling.

Additionally:

In the Dawn of Infinite, we learn that the further back you want to go – The more power you will need.

We went back to the fall of Galakrond TWICE and managed to save Nozdormu, but in exchange for changing the first alteration we made (foiling Iridikron’s plans) which resulted into him getting the Dark Heart.

The Bronze Dragonflight obviously weighed in towards the situation that there was too much at stake (Nozdormu) and simply allowed the L to be taken, to deal with later onward.

 As for the alternate realities / timelines / universes — I’d wager the same principle of required power would come into play, so changing the alternate universe meddling proved too much of a burden to intervene & thus chose to confront it head-on from the after.
