The one on the WoW roadmap I mean. The Scourge is still around even if they aren’t the threat they used to be. Just think: a public event in the Eastern Plaguelands for people of all levels that hearkens back to the original invasions. Plus, it would be an opportunity to bring back all those awesome transmogs from the WotLK launch event that many people (including me) have been begging for ever since transmog became a thing.
Yes. The Scourge. Definitely not me playing around with Unholy then leaving my ghouls to wander once I got bored with it.
I still want my sky pirate dwarves adventuring to treasure planet
Tel’abim or I nuke Moonguard.
“Why not both?”
I’d like that…
I think the Scourge is over though. They never did anything with a few different minor plots: The Quil’boar worshiping of death in Razorfen Downs the original and the remake. Ephial the Necromancer laying waste to Admiral Taylor’s Garrison in WoD, and the overall scene of the Scourge in Redridge Mountains + wherever else possible.
We’ve known what’s approaching the Dragon Isles for some time.
So whether ye be Irontide or Bloodsail, Defias or Freebooter, all are welcome to sail under the Nightsquall’s flag. Follow him as your new admiral and no navy on Azeroth will have a prayer against us!
It all starts with the Dragon Isles. Plunder its secrets in the name o’ Dread Admiral Nightsquall, and from there, the world is ours for the takin’!
Would be criminal if we don’t get them on the Trading Post.
Scourge Pirates?! Captain Rotbeard, Scourge of the (I don’t know how many seas there arrrr!)
Scourge REALLY should have been the followup to Shadowlands.
There was too many things leading to it, and then it just… disappeared.
The entire prepatch was us trying to fight off and contain the Scourge because the whole breaking of the crown / rift to the Shadowlands thing. That was NOT resolved during the prepatch, we just left it to the generic dudes and went to the Shadowlands to try and fix things.
Then, in the Kyrian Campaign, you see the memories of some dead dude, and it’s Scourge attacking Lakeshire (Redridge) in a scenario that heavily implied no one survived. It is not a pre-Cata NPC. It’s an NPC who was only added with Cata, implying it’s likely very recent. Given Lakeshire has not been razed by the Scourge between Cata and Shadowlands, it was likely something that happened while we were IN the Shadowlands.
So… where is THAT now that we’re back on Azeroth? Why even make quests like that with hugely important ramifications (“The Scourge were unable to be contained and have reached as far as Redridge Mountains”) only to pretend they didn’t happen?
Still miffed about it.
Well one of the devs (I forget which one) said that it’s not about pirates, and the latest update we got from Blizz says it’ll be a public event open to all, which probably means you don’t need a high level character or DF purchase. Plus, they’ve been on a transmog kick lately with re-adding lost appearances from the past. And the fact that the scourge invasions were really popular and people lamented them not lasting long enough. It all fits if you ask me.
I think it has something to do with the Decatriarch.
I have a softspot for Moonguard Players, but i’m willing to sacrifice if for the greater good.
The one piece is real.
Why does everyone keep trying to pretend that the pirate flag means anything other than pirates? It’s going to be pirates. Blizz is being all secret and cute about it, but when 10.2.6 drops there’s going to be pirates.
It’s not pirates bro, it’s Rebuilt Undercity.
Plus Upright Forsaken Customiz
Only if the Scourge Invasion doesn’t result in infection.
That event needs to be memory-holed already.
What if that part is war mode only?
No. Bad. Again, unless all NPCs and all PCs outside of War Mode were immune to the plague and unattackable by zombies.
The Scourge Invasion was awful to suffer through twice. We don’t need it a third time.
To be fair, I’m fond of some moonguardians as well.
We have room for some refugees.
I was more thinking of the part where you kill the Scourge to destroy their necropolises (necropoli?) and get loot in the process. And now that we have shared tagging, the whole thing would be a lot smoother than it ever was back in the day.
