What would make it better than Tirisfal? There was no land war actually on Tedrassil and there’s no reason for anyone to go back there. It would just be a ruined burned out husk. Tirisfal glade however has troops still fighting with one another, risen dead of both sides, and the untouched (aside from by Blight) remains of the Undercity itself.
If the idea is just to have a zone where dailies can occur, I think Tirisfal offers more variety and accessibility to both factions.
Also, it flat makes more sense that if there’s any place that would be important to Sylvanas herself, it would be in the heart of Undercity, not in the burnt out remains of a city she never set foot in.
I think that’s been more because that is what fans keep wanting to know more about. There is no question that the Burning of Teldrassil has stirred up the fanbase and that Blizzard has responded positively to that (even if you hate it. Especially if you hate it, it would seem) and I think that’s what led to Darkshore getting as much attention as it has.
But while there has already been a lot of focus on the losses of the Night Elves and gains of the Horde, we haven’t really had much focus on the losses of the Forsaken and gains of the Alliance. I think the end of the expansion is more likely to be bookended with that rather than a revisit to the same thing that we’ve been focused on already for the first half of the expansion.
You could be right and that’s all there is to it, or the corruption could go deeper than that. If they are going full Garrosh with Sylvanas it wouldn’t surprise me in the least if there isn’t some area hollowed out beneath Undercity that isn’t stuffed to the brim with undead and old god corruption.
I think the fall of the Lich King or the defeat of the burning Legion would be counted more as Sylvanas’s greatest victories, even if those were victories she didn’t have a direct hand in. The burning of Teldrassil feels more like a footnote leading up to something greater.
If there is a quest like that, I hope there’s an option to execute him for those who chose to report him to Sylvanas. Even if he ‘escapes’ before we can carry out the sentence.
Yeah, Undercity works if we’re talking about the most likely places to raid Sylvanas. Which is how some people manage to read every thread…
This thread is about our reactions to the Black Empire spawning in Teldrassil. And a scorched tree stump littered with the tortured and mad souls of the Night Elf people who are being warped and corrupted by the Void is a pretty solid pick. Like all things though, my reaction would depend on how it was handled.
I am inclined to agree that we will revisit it by the end of the expac but not for the reasons Treng thinks.
While he seems to think it will be about taking down Sylvanas, I think she may have cracked a seal similar to Dazaralor when she blew up Undercity.
I think she inadvertently did something to trigger an event there. Roused some long buried secret that the Human Kingdom of Lordaeron was built on top of ages ago.
My first thought when I got to Dazaralor was - this place is built to be a raid zone. And it ended up being one. Blizzard is a little obvious sometimes.
I agree - we have been to UC many times already on both Factions and had 2 battles there. But there seems to be unfinished business. Blizzard is doing something with it.
We could go from place to place and end up in a fiery Ruins of Darnassus as well as Undercity. In SoO we start in Pandaria and go to Org.
If that stopped Blizzard we wouldn’t be in Mists 2.0 fighting Garrosh 2.0 talking about the potential Siege 2.0 happening in Teldrassil gets corrupted 2.0 after the events of the Scourge attack on Quel’thalas 2.0 .
FYI, trope are just that, trope. It neither means the end result will be bad or good. At this point, everyone has used a trope, or tried to circumvent one trope or another.
Fair. I hate lore videos, mainly because I think people should think for themselves - but I guess using them for reference is alright. I’ll still never do it since I’m stubborn, though
Why not both? You start at the husk of Teldrassil, and you make your way to Undercity for the finale. Much like you started in the Vale before sieging Orgrimmar.
It’s not a perfect idea, but it’s fun to think about.
Make it like Siege of Niuzao Temple, but with Old Gods. Have to go through burrows in the tree, burnt areas. Maybe uncover ancient barrow dens and such.
