Stormwind’s a possibility.
Varimathras mentioned it, and it’s said in BTS to have been a long awaited goal for Sylvanas. She wants to kill and raise all the Humans.
If Sylvanas actually becomes a raid boss, the Horde might go into Stormwind stop her from raising the city into undeath.

Let’s not get into that old dry argument about how the ‘war started’ again please. The fact of the matter is that the burning of Tedrassil was a prepatch event. MoP didn’t end in the ruins of Theramore.
The final raid of the expansion doesn;t need it’s own ‘zone bubble’ either. It wasn’t necessary for the SoO and I don’t see why it would need to be for the cleansing of the Undercity… or even really the regrowing of Teldrassil come to that. It’s an unnecessary stipulation.
That as the case may be, but I don’t think it would offer as much closure for the Horde side, and like it or not the final raid does need to have appeal for both factions. I think an Undercity ritual followed by a brief Stormwind raid is more likely and more ‘poetic’ as you put it.
I don’t think Sylvanas will be put down before she has her chance to attack Stormwind… not after all the foreshadowing to that effect in the books and in game.
Well, the trend since WoD is we need a new zone to accompany the raid(heavily tide to said raid). Tedrassil would be the perfect “new” zone for the end of the expansion.
Considering Blizzard does not have to follow everything beat for beat, saying MoP didnt end in Theramore seems non sequitur to the possibility of Tedrassil being the end of BfA. As much as Lordearon was used for promoting the expac, Tedrassil and its destruction has been the heart of everything that has happened since the war and continues to loom over nearly every lore discussion.

That wasn’t a glimpse, that was the whole thing. The darkness under Tirisfal was that faceless’s corpse after Tyr killed it.

Teldrassil as a raid would be cool, but I think using it as the Necrolyte training grounds would be cooler.

I´m with Treng on this… it´s gonna be Undercity. I mean “we totally needed another MoP” implies it must be a (former) Horde city the one to be raided at the end.

plus if we’re gonna raid an alliance city, i’d want it to be an important one. Not the dilapitated corpse of an unimportant hovel.

It’s the site of Sylvanas’ greatest victory, and Malfurion’s and Tyrande’s greatest defeat. Sylvanas is smart enough to take advantage of the resultant psychological advantage if she’s choosing a place for her last stand.
Of course, she’d have to be driven out of Orgrimmar first.
But dumb enough to go to a place that has no actual warfare advantage?
Lordaeron is a fortress surrounded by skeleton slaves and blight.

i think that the last raid will be stormwind, sylvanas will try a desperate move to turn the population into her army so she can start her scourge.
i don’t know who the last boss is going to be, but i bet that it will be herself to have the 3 warbringers as raid bosses.

All 3 Warbringers as bosses, all 3 Warbringers getting away.

seems likely.
i doubt that azshara dies in some second tier raid as well.
I think it would be a mistake to assume that the final raid is going to be a semi-conventional “Last Stand” on Sylvanas’s part.
Part of this is because I think if Sylvanas splits from the Horde prior to the final raid, she isn’t going to take a sizable army with her. A handful of uber loyalists maybe, but not enough to mount a conventional defense of any city.
I think if we go back to Teldrassil, it’s going to be because someone, possibly but not necessarily Sylvanas, wants to accomplish something that requires the burned out husk of Teldrassil. Teldrassil’s still intact roots run deep, potentially deep enough to be used to channel a spell into the world soul. And a dead world tree could be useful if you want to wield some wickedly powerful death magic.

We have had hints before that Tedrassil is a site that is important to the Old Gods. Hence, my initially view that if we end up in going to Tedrassil it will be filled with Old God minions.
She doesn’t need to. She has Xalatath. She can have void spawn, or old god spawn, or legions of undead.
if you go to far it teleports you out
I really like the suggestion of using the remains of Teldrassil as a raid. In terms of story, it makes sense, since we know that there was previously an issue with the tree being infected by Old God corruption. It’s not a big stretch to imagine the burning undoing the Dragonflight magic that had cleansed it, corruption arising once again.
Plus, the utter destruction would allow Blizzard’s designers a pretty huge palette to work with.

Why wouldn’t she choose to go on her own in order to attack? I don’t get why she would have to be driven out.

Maybe. But overall I feel like an ending where Sylvanas makes a last stand at a place chosen mainly for it’s defensive capabilities would be a letdown.
Partly because it creates even more parallels with MoP, and BfA already has far more than it’s fair share. No matter how different the precise context is, if the final raid involves attacking a Horde capital the forums are going to riot and not unjustifiably.
But also because, I think Sylvanas is just better then that. Garrosh’s plan at the SoO was merely an early step in his most recent conquer-the-world plan. Even if he won that particular battle, he’d still be a long way from his endgame of actually conquering the entire world. It’s entirely possible, even probable, that he could of been defeated later on, albeit at a much higher cost.
If Sylvanas is to be the final boss, I want her to be on the cusp of victory. As in I need to believe that if the raid fails, Sylvanas wins. Without question and without delay. And for that to happen, a more mystical location (like Teldrassil) works better because she could only accomplish such a thing through mystical means.
Now none of this means we aren’t going to eventually go back to the Undercity. Over the long term I actually think it’s almost inevitable. I just don’t think the final raid of BfA is the right place to do that.
