What if Survival

…was totally reworked and renamed? Like demolitionist? I mean we already have bomb, tar trap, explosive shot, explosive trap, etc. You could get rid of the pet. You almost have a good foundation for a spec like this. Plus it would end the whole melee vs ranged Survival arguement.

Just an idea I had for some reason. Dont know :stuck_out_tongue: I just want to see something different.

Don’t say get rid of pet in a hunter forum. There’s a select group that will come after you!

There is already an end to the melee vs ranged survival arguement. They bring ranged survival back as another spec and literally everyone no matter what their opinion is…is happy.

I have seen probably 2 people on this sub forum that would not be happy with that outcome, lol

But yeah 100%, make a 4th spec for the RSVers, call it something else.

GG mostly all the whiners are satisfied.

There will still be folks asking for dual wield survival :smiley:

But I guess the way I look at the hunter specs is this. Beastmaster : All about pets and pet damage. Marksman : All about big shots and rapid fires and such. Survival : What the hell does Survival mean? Like you survive? I guess I feel like they havent really found a proper theme for Survival. And the name Survival is kind of bland and confusing I guess? Unless someone could help me out with that.

I guess I just wished they pick a theme/direction. It feels like it has 3 or 4 different ideas going on at once. Mine was just an idea I made up.

i also would like dual wielding for survival hunters.

Obviously is the medic/dps spec a healer spec that has powerful damage XD. But all joking aside id rather see a healing spec then see the ranged vs melee quarrel.

John J. Rambo is my vision of Survival Hunter. Ironically in WoW, there was already a John J. Keeshan character in Cataclysm. That’s the poster child of what SV should be.

As a proud 9.2 FOTM’er, improvised weaponry ought to be the niche. The environment be thy weapon. If I was the new hire for Hunter designer, that’s what I’d push for.

Yea… This game needs a gadget\gunner spec.

They doubled down on pets this expac with the class tree having a ton of abilities requiring pets and PVP talents requiring pets and survival staying the same so its highly unlikely a gunner gadget spec is ever going to happen.

I think its me low key been wanting an engineer/gadget/explosive style spec/class.

Please, if you have the time and money to check out another MMO take a look at Engineer in GW2.

WoW is my favorite game probably ever, but, imo gw2 is the best mmo I’ve played for combat and class design

Plz no to removing pet from another hunter spec. I hate BM due to it being a zookeeper spec where you are mostly on the sidelines watching a horde of wild animals do the work, and they all but removed pets from MM. I main survival mostly due to the fact it feels like you are hunting alongside your pet, with him being mostly support.

I’d be willing to compromise on a lot of things when it comes to a rework, but dont take pets away from us pet lovers even more than you have :<

Edit: You could always incorporate the pet as a helper in a gadget spec. Imagine having the pet delivering explosives, or attatching a laser turret to your pet ark style etc

I also wish the SV hunter pet was gone I like dual weapons idea give us axe throw not kill command

IMO the Hunter class should be 3 specs with a pet and bow/gun.

Tinker should be a new class with 1 ranged dps with bow/gun, 1 melee dps with explosives, and 1 heal spec like a chemist/alchemist.

Warlock and Hunter would be the “ranged with pet” classes for magic and non-magic fans.

Shaman and Tinker would be the “ranged - melee - healer” classes for magic and non-magic fans.

I feel like if theyre going to make a melee spec then make a melee spec. Its too much of a range/melee hybrid. I find the pet kind of hinders the whole melee idea because it feels just forced in and it makes it feel too clunky. Plus if your pet dies or isnt in range for some reason then half of your abilities dont work. If im a melee spec then why rely on a pet so much. I dont get why every hunter spec needs a pet. BM? Sure its a pet spec. MM? Who needs one your a sniper spec built around big long shots the pet is just a utility trunk. Surv? I dont think it really needs one either if they did the melee spec right.

My idea of survival is monster hunter since they use overkill sized weapons to hunt.

How about they don’t rework it and just revert it to the way it was. It’s Dumbest spec in the game imo.

Uh oh. Here they come.

I personally like the pet but I’m also of the mind that pets are more iconic for the class than bows/ranged attacks. They could do more with them, but I like the idea.

I would like more… Surviving. SV should be the hardest spec to kill in the game.
