What if... (not tbc)

It’s a different expansion all together, and not TBC?

Then I won’t be playing.

Why is that? I loved TBC too, but I always welcome new content.

Of course id try it. But it wouldnt have the same magic

Remember. The same people who are making retail would also be making that content. So if you arent in love with retail i think you will be greatly disappointed

I wouldn’t play some “classic” version expansion for the same reasons I’m not going to play shadowlands. I don’t believe the current devs want to or can create a game that I find fun.

It won’t be happening. I can give you a bunch of reasons, but they all boil down to the fact that TBC is a known quantity, and it would be dirt cheap to produce compared to a new expansion on a branching timeline.

Moreover, you don’t want a different expansion. Not really. Blizzard of 2020 is not Blizzard of 2004. Any new expansion would be made by the Blizzard of 2020, and we’ll have to see if the ‘Classic Trilogy’ gives them time to relearn how to make good games again.

Do you remember the wall of nope?
Those people are still here.

The wow community is notoriously against anything involving wow.

As much as I would be hyped to to play new content, and I most certainly would, I distrust Blizzard to keep their head on straight regarding class design fixes, changes and things of that nature.

We only need to look at retail to see how bad class design is, its a shame too because retail has some really beautiful raids and dungeons.

If the classes were not so unpleasant to play, and by no means are they complicated, its just that they are missing tools they ought to have, and have tools they should not. Its like they removed quality class designers and replaced them with a bunch of ideas presented by 6 year olds who love super hero movies, but don’t understand why those cool ideas don’t work in games like this.

Meh.

I’d much rather have a WoW 2 instead of an expansion of Classic that isn’t BC.

That would mean they’d have to work on 2 expansions at once, and that isn’t happening. They like Classic because it’s almost pure profit. It’s already developed.

Like skipping TBC and going straight to WotLK? I’m 100% on board with that.

Then I will hard pass because I want tbc

I belive it’s called shadowlands

None of my friends are willing to buy shadowlands after getting burned on WoD, Legion and BFA.

There is makings a hard sell, and then there is attempting to sell shadowlands.

Don’t bother. Players like Rautakeju are suffering from a form of logical fallacy and perception bias where they don’t think it’s possible for developers to create a better game than which all ready exists.

im for it, but i doubt it.

as far as classic+ or an “expansion” to classic, i would rather them come out with wow’s successor. i feel its time for a new mmo, and i say that because i think retail is too far gone and i dont see them backing down from classic being a “museum piece”.

off topic, there are many ways to to do this, i for one would like to see them make an mmo set in the first war timeframe.

Blizzard is going to do what they did with Classic, just regurgitate the stuff they already have. They aren’t going to create anything new.

Sure, but if it was cata or wrath having that before tbc would be more than a little confusing. This is because cata and wrath both had old tbc content. This way it is more of a progression where players decide when the content stops.
