Illidan really didn’t do anything. The Lightforged and champions did all the heavy lifting. Really he was just “there” sure he fought a few nobodies but its not like he helped us fight Argus or any of the demons in the Raid.

He’ d have become a robot and gone down the same kind of route Yrel did.
X’era was not nice. Every time she interacted with the player she caused pain and agony and the first time a 3 day coma. She apparantly wasn’t interested in learning or for that matter the wishes of the people she chose to interact or change. She’s essentially the Dark Kosh of the Naaru, the epitome of the Abusive Messiah complex. I’m with Illidan on this one… trading Freedom for Power was a bad enough deal the first time he tried it.

A huge portion of the playerbase would have instantly thrown up in their mouths, followed by another huge portion doing the same after Tyrande leaves Malfurion to run off with Illidan when she realizes that Illidan was always right all along.
We’d have Holy as a third Demon Hunter spec.

We probably wouldn’t have even noticed, it would have been celebrated like every other instance of the light doing something noble and Xe’ra would have continued light raping people against their will.
