Correct. It has to be in a bank or void storage somewhere. If you do not have it on an alt, you may not have done it yet, and just need to go to Silithus and check with Jaina or Magni to grab the quest.

Can’t lose it. Well you can but that just means you haven’t searched your inventory thoroughly because it can’t be deleted or gotten rid of st all
