I would do every single quest ever expecially the ones ive never done
Iâve been saying this in multiple posts for a while. Even if people solo old content it wouldnât be a big deal⌠All theyâd have to do is make some enemies a little weaker to various Item Levels instead of character levels. Probably best done if they do the level squish with it. Make areas more ilvl based once at capped level.
This plus revamping rewards to scale too, maybe updating some textures a bit more hi-res, stuff like that. I think it would bring the world back aliveâŚ
The only tricky thing would be dungeons⌠Iâd say that should be what toggles because of transmog farming.
Iâve been considering this idea and if done right could be great. Tweaking raids/dungeons to fit with current game so new players can experience Molten core or defeat the lich king after their leveling in northrend in some sort of meaningful way.
They really need to fix leveling first though. Leveling has been made complete crap over years of just abusing it as a mechanic to lazily separate expansions.
This would just invalidate levels and Iâd quit. The ilvl scaling already mitigates some progression of power, the last thing Iâd want is this.
If I could have things my way, I think the game should be rough as a fresh 120 and then as you gain gear, youâre back in MoP where youâre full pulling a dungeon and crushing it out.
I know thatâs an unpopular opinion but I enjoyed watching my tank get crushed against a couple of dungeon mobs only to gain enough power at the end to pull an entire dungeon and be unfazed. Namely because I didnât live at either extreme for very long. The progression to a full pull was an enjoyable process as I got to witness being able to pull more and more.
Almost like hitting the gym and finally being able to hit the big weights. Itâs the progression thatâs fun to experience, at least for me anyway.
Sure, I wouldnât be opposed if there was a toggle. Donât mind other people getting features Iâm not interested in as long as I have a way to unsubscribe from said feature.
So long as its world content and it gives me a reason to go to old zones I really see no issue
Sounds like a Full Employment Act for Blizzard Devs (FEABD) Act of 2019. And 2020. And 2021.
And OP, Blizzard doesnât do toggles.
Yes, letâs throw the whole concept of a Role Playing Game out of the window as well.
whatâs invalidating to levels is no character development in those levels.
leveling 110-120 was you actively nerfing your character if you even had half way decent gear from end game legion. Same deal from 100-110 end of legion, except you had artifact weapons and stuff to fill that gap. I first noticed it with the 90-100 in WoD where I was actively losing DPS for each level gain, while really gaining nothing but a new number.
Them using leveling as a way to counter powercreep has had it that way for years.
No this would be a bad idea and blizzard doesnât do toggles.
The system we have now is the compromise already.
That is what they made that free boost for. If you canât take the time to play 10 levels with a friend then you arenât much of a friend anyway.
Implying all new players want to skip all but 10 levels in a game they just started playing.
Not only has someone looked into this to find that they usually want to get a handle on the game before utilizing their boost, but I witnessed someone trying game for first time 2 days ago. Dead by Daylight streamer tried it with 2 of her Streamer buddies, and one of the first things she said is she wants to get handle on game before using a boost.
Actually, what youâre describing is ilvl scaling and lvl scaling working in conjunction to make you feel that way. Before the world scaled, you could literally out lvl something and you felt the progression of power that way. This world scaling tech was implemented in legion.
In WoD, âloss of dpsâ only came when you ran dungeons which had scaling tech in them because that was the first instance of scaling tech implemented.
So no, you didnât grow more powerless as you leveled until recently.
People used to push the idea of level scaling as a means to play with their friends with lowbie toons. Yeah, right. Anyone who plays the game knows that would be an edge case.
I do not think it would be a good idea. Theoretically, I would be able to level without ever leaving the starter area. It would mean those entry-level mobs would continue to scale to 120 along with me. That, in a nutshell, would underscore how your toon never, ever gets any more powerful, because even the baby wolves and sheep and cows are every bit as powerful as you.
Itâs not bad, not with your intent, letting people finish things, but I think if everything everywhere scaled with you â why level?
Coming from old-school D&D and AD&D, seeing everything scale is an odd sight. I loved being able, as a Fighter, to destroy hordes of kobolds as I leveled. That wouldnât be possible with the idea of everything scaling.
All IMHO.
scaling from 1 to max is seriously immersion breaking, not to mention there is a certain pleasure in going back to old content to maul the mobs that at one point told you âsorry, no lubeâ
I mean, I had a habit that every character, when they hit around 70 or so, would HAVE to go back and spank that ninja skeleton called Morladim.
Because he killed me too many times while I was simply questing and minding my own business.
The Fel Reaver in Outland quite often got the same treatment.
Itâs minor, but sometimes you want to go back and feel overpowered. So long as it doesnât hurt lower level players (ie say a mob only spawns every 4-6 hours), thereâs nothing wrong with that being an option.
I see so what one person wants, they all want.
In any case, there is nothing stopping you from leveling up another alt if this it an issue. The game doesnât have to be ruined for others because you want to have your cake and eat it too.
Sure, level scaling has its merits but unlike WM, I canât just turn it off if Iâm not interested.
Level scaling wasnât introduced until start of Legion, this was like 93/97 players both attacking a level 94 mob, I picked those level because thatâs where I seen it level wise when you started getting mid-range dungeons after slagmines with a slightly larger level range.
Also, I was more talking about The validity of the levels weâve been getting. Levels havenât really been valid ages before scaling, because the fact itâs been largely added to make your character more resistant to the effect of stats to deal with powercreep for next set of raids. To me leveling serves 2 purposes in an RPG, Developing your character and unlocking content.
I donât really feel the character development from being able to go back and 1 shot mobs in a zone that is irrelevant, but on the other-hand when leveling a character I donât feel as if Iâm unlocking content, because just so much of the game is at that state where it is irrelevant for everything but cosmetic farm. Scaling everything up could help there to have it part of the end game.
Either way, I feel WoW really really needs help in the playing the Expansion/patch not the game part.
Great, so my dream if killing boars outside SW until 120 would come trueâŚ
Kinda seems like you abandoned your friend rather than him getting bored lol.
