What I Would Like to See

I haven’t seen one of these threads in a minute, so I thought we could share some of the changes we’d like to see.

Better Incentives for PvP: You’d get more PvP pet battling done if there was an incentive. The tabard was a good idea. I just think we need better rewards. For instance, a few pet charms for your first win of the day (and only your first). I think it should reward honor for those who engage in PvP. We have pets that are only available to us when we accumulate a certain amount of honor, so why shouldn’t PvP pet battling reward honor?

Bring back the plans for Tranquil Mechanical Yeti. It’s a great pet, but because the quest line which rewarded the plans was done away with, no one else can ever learn to make one.

Xizzer Fizzbolt in Everlook took over as source of the Schematic for the Tranquil. Sells it cheap but there’s some pre-req quests you need to do.

Thanks for letting me know. I didn’t realize. The last I heard is that the quest line that rewarded plans for Tranquil Mechanical Yeti got removed from the game. I guess it’s back.

This is another thing, by the way, that I would like to see.

  1. I notice that when you get some pets, you can sell them directly to the merchants for 30 gold. (My Tinder Pup, for instance, that I just got on an expedition, could have been sold to a merchant for 30g.) I find myself wishing that all reward pets/drop pets were like that.

I’m pretty fed up with the Menagerie Daily in the Garrison, where it rewards those pets that everyone has now. I could take it to the AH, and maybe get 20-30 silver for them. That’s how much the market is saturated now. Or just delete them.

  1. I’d also like to see pets be account-wide before we actually add them to our collection, rather than soulbound. The reason being is because I prefer to sell my pets on all one account. So, if I have extra pets, I’d rather just mail them to my account seller, cage a pet (if I already have three of these pets), add it to my collection, cage it, put it on the AH, then re-add the other caged pet.

Say my Priest has acquired a new pet that I have three of, but I prefer to sell my pets on a Paladin, as he needs the money, who is on another server.

As it is, I have to cage one of my pets, add the new level one version to my collection, switch to my Paladin, put the new pet on the AH, then go back to Priest and add my leveled pet to my collection.

If I could just take the new pet and mail it to my Paladin, like with charms and stones, it would make it a lot easier.

I have to admit this one baffles me. I really don’t understand why that 30g isn’t a standard price for one-off pets. What really annoys me is that some of them need Delete spelled out to get rid of them, which is a bit of a pain if you have alot of alts.

Exactly! And in the case of Menagerie pets, the only alternative is to sell them on the AH. And as I said before, you’ll probably get 20-30 sp tops. It’s just not worth it.

Having just finished Dragon Isles Safari, something I would like to see more of is the things they implemented here for locating pets: talking to an NPC to get an item/buff to summon or see the pet, the legendaries on Forbidden Reach where you fight surrounding pets to drop it to Rare to get a version of what you fight as a pet… I like those items more than just fly here to get a pet.

I’m starting to wonder if the problem with PvP pet battles is partly due to the nature of being locked in once you queue for a pet battle.

I’m waiting for a pet battle now, and I’ve been in it for over 15 minutes. And while I was thinking of things to do while I wait, I checked my Trader’s Log to see what I could do to earn some currency. And I was perusing the pet battles and thought, “There are tons of things I could do.”

Then I realized, because I’m queued for a PvP pet battle, there’s nothing I can do to. If there was a way to set aside the pets we plan to queue with, but still let us to pet quests, I think the queues would fill up quicker.
